Well... me and the missus are 3 now (little girl Eva 16mnths) I have a 2 seater pickup truck. I'm really torn cos the pickup isn't 'finished' - it's on the road daily and it spins the wheels and goes like stink but I really want to fit a Viva front end and schlam it. don't think I can selflessly evote that much time to something we cant enjoy together - a common problem I'm sure. Here's my shortlist (today 22:50 : . Amazon; Pros: Looks / Rodability (Cosmetic) / Big enough pour famil Cons: don't seem to be many rot free ones Triumph 2000 / 2500; Pros: REALLY want to put one of these on bags (whats the susp setup ?) / They look great and I think would really suit the clean J look. Cons: Rust rust / filler and rust. (Early) Ford Consul; Pros: Proper rod material. Cons; Big enough fr the family ? So whaddya tink ?

Triumph 2000s have mcpherson strut front suspension and wishbone type rear suspension very similar to the set up on sierras.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Ooh... Amazon's in the lead...
Pug is lovely - Parts ? où est les vous ? (I didnt get entered for gcse french)
Variants are cool... Everyone I know has had one of these... Not 'Rod' material and not a 'scene' I'm too fussed about buying into.
Anyone ever had an early consul or similar ? What others UK cars carry a similar presence ?

We had a Morris Oxford sat in the drive for ages, about ten years ago. They're big inside, and seeing the kind of thing you're looking at I think they'd be an interesting choice. But they're not easy to find... However!! I've seen a few of these knocking around here, they're always clean and tidy because they are almost new: How's THAT for a left-field suggestion ;D

Go Mk1 Triumph 2000. It has the fabulous stylish dashboard, is shorter in the tail and nose and lighter than a Mk2. Rover V8 fits in the engine bay rather nicely and with Datsun 1/2 shafts all rear axle problems are gone. Plus same PCD as many early 4 stud Japanese cars so wheel choice is good.

Whoops forgot to add the later Mk2 facelift Triumph 2000/2500 rust quicker than earlier cars. I don't know why.

I'm currently in the middle of rodding my MkII Consul Lowline, they're great cars to own and can be rodded with total ease! you can fit a MASSIVE engine in the bay if you want and they're the best example of british cars mirroring the yank design heres mine... retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=1169672740i have been thinking about selling it TBH to add to my 'save for a massive yank-tank fund' so if you do fancy one

To be fair....all the 50's/60's Dagenham dustcarts are good for rods....got the size and prescence. Id love the space for a Zeph III but alas we're already overflowed. One day.
depends on what you wanna spend too. But the fords are great (and huge inside!!)

I have to say, Amazon's are one of my favourite cars of all time, aesthetically. My vote would easily be in that corner.
