Okay I got to thinking last night half the fun of these cars is the fact that some of them are unloved cars that are taken away and made to look (or drive) very cool, for example a lot of the Japanese cars and things like Darren's brothers Lada. So. Heres the challenge. You've got a (theortical) £1,000 to spend on a car and it's modifications, you can get it from anywhere (but it does need to be bought, can't use something you have already), don't worry about tax/insurance, you've just got £1,000 in your back pocket with which you need to buy and modify a car to make it funky. It should also be able to pass an MOT (so no scrapped/rust/half dead cars). This tape will self destruct in 10 seconds,.... -David PS I'm sure this is what ScrappingScraps does but well he's not around

Okay I'm still looking around for cheaper cars, but I discovered this whilst browsing Ebay France : Simca 1000sr Uk Price for an average condition model seems to be about £800 (if I could find one for sale),.. Leaving about £200. So these wheels for about £150: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2459329400&category=28648Leaving £50 for spit and polish (or shoe horning the wheels on). If I could get a cheaper base car (say £500) I'd go for a proper lowering job on it too. But that was just something I stumbled across this morning

Excellent choices! Well I've just found this: www.findit.co.uk/cars/bmw/3series/1005822.htmE21 320i BMW, new MOT, black... (no pic though). £500, reckon you'd knock him down to £450. In here: www.635csi.co.uk/carsales/htm/plates.htmis someone selling "E21 320 Parts. BBS X-Spoke alloys with excellent 185x70 Goodyear Venturas. Weber carburettor conversion. Radiator. ECU. Plug Lead set. Brand new and boxed BMW Ariel. All spares less than 5000 miles use. Prefer to sell as a lot. £275" Oooh those wheels sound good. Reckon you could sell the rest on and get some of that money back... So got the car, got the wheels, just need a load of this: And I reckon you could end up with something along these lines: WARNING This thread is seriously dangerous to your wallet!

Lowered suspension. CD autochanger. MOT Aug 04. Bright yellow, black bonnet. Ultra reliable. Very rare. £1000 no offers. www.findit.co.uk/cars/classic/cars/980609.htm

I think that this forum is going to prove VERY dangerous to the health of my wallet... I've just been looking at an E21 for sale not too far from me for £600...
Good job I haven't got the space! And I'm determined to buy a T25 van and turn it into an ultra-cool rat-seventies-clubman-racer looker before BugJam!!

Well I'm feeling the love for these at the moment, so on my 'eBaybuild' I'll buy this: An '89/G Panda 1000S. It ended for £380, so let's say I've paid £390 for it... Then I'll throw these on: Alfa 145 Cloverleaf 15" alloys. These ended for £13.50, so we'll say I paid £15 for all four! Now I need tyres: Toyo Proxes PX4 195/50 15. £177.68 fitted from blackcircles.com. A few quid down the local exhaust centre to knock up a large bore single box system. A few more quid on window tinting film. No money at all cutting a couple of coils out all round. Drop 'n roll...

Well, i think its a great idea to get it running again. Especially as I Missed it by about 18 months the first time round. Just ended and would have sold for £399 Rolling on
£470 - new off the bay, but i suppose they could be found cheeper second hand. Very cut coils are free (think its do-able), so thats £130 to buy some tyres if the ones on it are too tall, or buy some -whatever is the most available-mm lowering springs or put some tax on it.
