I'm always amazed we don't see more Aussie cars here. We used to get the Valiant Charger but they are pretty much all gone now.
funny you should mention that, a Charger was recently imported back into Australia from the UK. Apparently it's been sitting in a showroom in Earls Court since new?
Aussie val people are drooling over it as the interior is immaculate (hasnt faded or crumbled like most australian car interiors do after a few years from our sunlight)
the new Monaro here sold reasonably well when released but then sales dropped off a bit as petrol pretty much doubled overnight. Falcon GT is still around but the CEO of Ford Aus. wants to go back to the 80's when they dropped the V8... so you can see the writing is on the wall, especially when the straight six turbo makes more power.
devlish - aus cars, yeah they are still pretty simple and straight forward compared to euro stuff, even a lot of holden and ford new stuff from AU and VX onwards bolts into earlier models. Friend just built a XE falcon towcar using all AU running gear, manual box out of a EL XR6 and is using an AU computer to run it all. It's just a pity that most new aussie cars never seem to last these days and look pretty ratty after about 100,00 kays or dealerships are just hopeless at knowing how to service cars or treat customers.
