I just managed to dig out a couple of photos that show the exhaust situation a little better: You can see we actually measured and everything! It was crushing when it sounded like the Porcelain God was singing the song of his people. The Winter months were also the period where the garage went from "useful space" to a real man cave. The most important addition was Roadkill TM Radio. Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps is played a lot... *The vice is tiny, rather than being a huge bench! It's for my soldering work.

Great work there!
You will find that 840 brembos are a direct fit on the struts: no adaptor needed!
Cheers,
Rob

Hi chaps, just come back to this after a long session of working in the wilds of Salisbury. I have the next two weeks with nothing else planned so I'm hoping to crack on with the car. The brakes are from an E38 7'er, my mistake! markgenesis, I'll be rolling the car out in a few days - I'll get a photo of the Style 32's for you then.

Looking picking up some style 32s myself and doing something similar with them. Any updates? This looks to be a promising build

Sorry chaps, my Mini is eating all my time and money at the moment! I've had to replace the timing chain and crank damper in the last few weeks while money is in short supply anyway! Get a modern car, they said; it will be reliable, they said... I've also started a part time MEng - too much stuff, not enough time! I was going to keep this as an "OEM+" build but having seen this and this I'm tempted to go a little more wild and take this car as far away as possible from it's latrine like current state, within budgetary constraints of course. It's amazing what the little old M20 is capable of! I've hopefully found a source of nice cheap Spec 55 wire and Deutsch connectors (the joys of working a mile away from an air base) so with a little luck I'll be able to crack on with a nice aircraft grade wiring harness come December! The only real progress I've made is every sensor for the turbo installation has been purchased and I've started CAD'ing up a custom centre panel for the dash which I should be 3D printing at work in the coming weeks. As soon as the tax man pays me the thousands I'm owed I'll be able to get a turbo, injectors, head studs and gasket, 'zorst, cam, IC and LSD sorted! I've started trying my hand at gear cutting at work too so I may not even need to buy an LSD (I wish!). So, while hardly exciting, this is just a little update into where I am and why I've been so inactive (sorry!). As a little experiment I'm going to try my hand at sanding the roof at the weekend and see what can be done with the knackered paint. Thanks for the interest everyone Dan
