I'm hoping the swaggyretroness lets me get away with having a 51 on the number plate, since nobody actually hated it when I did a thread. I'm hoping I can moisten you with shiny things and real walnut veneer.
Dear mods: I know. I'm sorry. But everywhere else is full of VW muppets.
I've had some fantastic memories in this car, but the want for something much bigger, with far far more cylinders and far worse fuel economy is strong. Stronger than the will to keep this.
I now have a lovely Jaguar XJ6 S3 in need of love and this needs to go ASAP as there is NO space outside to keep it. Rover 75 estate

The bad bits: Needed gone ASAP The bad bits: Small nick in one lip of front wheel Clutch slave cylinder is a bit pants and needs replacing ideally, but still works Inner CV boot split, causing some wear to the cv so could do with replacing as well Normal age related marks/stonechips, and a small scuff on the front bumper.
Need it gone, got a new car, and I'm being badgered by the neighbours and parents to move one of my cars.

Also, will swap/deal for an XJS (V12 auto or 3.6/4l manual), a series 1/2/3 XJ12 manual/auto, or a series 1/2/3 XJ6 manual. as long as it moves, steers and stops, I'm game.

I've seen this around and it looks fantastic! You say that if you don't get £3100 for it you'll break it. It looks a pretty solid car, and you've obviously put a fair bit of time, money, and effort into building it. Will it really be worth £3k in parts once you've put the time and effort into stripping it? Let alone the time it would take to list and post all the parts you've sold.

Probably not, but the money I want to spend on it to get it where I want is more than I'm going to have for a while, but starting fresh with something else with anywhere even close to the money I want will let me make it happen. I love it to bits, but it's not economically viable for me to spend more on it

Id rather break it than see someone else in it, but for the right money I wouldn't mind.
seeing as the wheels are a solid £1500, the engine a good £400 since its got new belts, the clutch master cylinder £50, the steering wheel £130, the xenon projector headlights £150, the interior £100, the coilovers £75 not to mention the demand for the rear suspension arms, and straight bodywork for the estate models, £3k isn't far off a reasonable asking price for it with an mot. the gearbox issue is what I'm now 90% certain is a clutch slave cylinder which is part of the release bearing.
I could sort it myself, and am considering it, but I have my heart set on something very large and very british.

The same rule applies to this as on all for sale ads here on RR.
If the seller isn't asking for pricing advice (we've got a section for that) then don't offer it. If you're genuinely interested in buying, then send the seller a polite PM with an offer and maybe even an explanation of why you think your buying price is different.
In all other cases, simply register your protest against the perceived high price by not buying it. Simple.

In my opinion, anything is worth what someone is prepared to pay versus the asking price. Haggling a few hundred quid is expected, but offering a tenth of an asking price is just a waste of effort. This didn't happen in this thread, but it wasn't constructive in any way.
Properly on topic now. I think this 75 looks the nuts. mg/rovers look so good with certain mods, and if I had the spare cash and the space (usual spiel), I'd have it as I want it.
I quite like a rover, good luck, I hope it sells, as it would be such a shame to break.
