amazing - and of course we aren't used to seeing you so agitated. (see what I did there). Is this a DIY project mortals can do? and, how does the cost compare to just buying one? Nothing fancy or difficult about it. £16 pound salad bowl from Poland. £10 worth of JB weld, another £10ish on silicon insulated cable. Roughly £200 on transducers and drivers. Call it £300 all in with the heating pad, enclosure etc. For most things people want to clean, you can buy a fair sized one for that kind of money. One big enough for me to get the plates in is about £2000. So well worth it in my opinion. Yes, mine isn't as sturdy/ industrial, but for my uses it's perfect. And I learn something along the way...😊 Thanks! good to know - another thing I didn't know I needed until now - off to the interwebs...

Been playing with the ultrasonic cleaner a bit more. Made a couple of brackets from scrap to hold the plates in the cleaner Holds it just off the bottom of the bowl Before landing up in the salad After 15 minutes No headache from the smell of nasty solvents. No oil slicks and a ton of rags to dispose of... I am in love😍😍😍😂😂😂

What solution are you using in the bowl?

What solution are you using in the bowl? Some washing powder from Tescos. Cannot remember which one,I decanted it from the plastic bag it came in,to a bucket ages ago when I was playing around with electrolysis.

Link us to the new build thread when it's up, will you..? ;P More a case of finding the right detergent for the job. Also needs to be rinsed better. Some of the stuff is loose, but still attached to part,if that makes sense. 😊 No major changes planned until I have exhausted the other ideas I have for getting the loose bits off. Am targeting the rusty bits in the coolant channels...

Have you had any issues with flash rusting when you take the parts out, or is dry then spray with something part of your procedure?
I nearly bought a small ultrasonic bath when Aldi last had them on offer. Been kicking myself ever since.

I nearly bought a small ultrasonic bath when Aldi last had them on offer. Been kicking myself ever since. Dried under the octopus arm of the heater. Oiled for now as the garage tends to be damp in the winter. Plan is to get all the crud off now. Send the plates for lapping. Re clean in the ultrasonic cleaner after lapping. Then fill all the ports with high temperature metal filled epoxy before spraying the outsides. Still need to modify one centre plate though, for the additional stationary gear to convert engine from two rotor to three. Might use a new plate for that....😊

you guys don't have prepsol there by any chance? Not readily available. Things that work,or want to work, are generally frowned upon here....🙄😂😂

Cool. I suspected as much. I'm still using the time honoured method of Jizer in a bucket, wash off in hot water and soda crystals, dry and then either paint or oil as appropriate.
Like most people I know nothing practical about rotary engines, only what I've read, so it's interesting to see this progress.
