Well , even with the timing as i wanted it , and then on 10d retarded , it's still kicking back , it may be this starter is a bit poorly ....
in other news , i spent yest morning scouring the local factors for sensor safe sealant , and finally got some in oxford at cr marks , however , it then occured to me , what if it all melts and ruins my "heavenly rainbow snakes resting" (thats the "i ching' name ) exhaust pipes ? making them all scummy ..... oh the horror !
So i got a couple of bits of old Ti pipe , gooped them together , and left them in the vice , and this morning i will heat them to within an inch of their lives and see what the sealant does ...
if its ok i will take off the whole system , and weld pinholes and goop the slip joints .
CO gas poisoning research continues , with the doors open and me forgetting to get the extraction on properly , 5m saw the CO at 210 ppm . with the system extracting and doors open and over head fans on , 5m saw 160 ppm. obviously a lot of CO coming out of all the joints .
in 5m it is all back down to under 70 ppm after shut off.
NOW ,it occurred to me , since i still seem to have cylinder 5.. E2.... running poorly , and i don't know if its rich or lean ,I am , since i have the whole system off , going to film the engines running with no pipes on at all , so i can see what colour flame ,with all the lights off , comes out of that cyl ,hold my breath for the duration then run out of the cave .
fun fun fun .
regards
robert.
