But imagine the junk I'd be hauling home if I lived in the US. This is in the "save me before I'm scrapped" type posting on a US forum And I feel bad when some Nissan Stanza gets cubed.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Looks like a '60 to me going on the shape of the fins. How great would that be as a daily with the bodywork left as it is

tried that, the problem is that you end up with the car falling apart around you. Take a good look at my Buick sometime. Mechanically I've done loads to it but I'm not even going to bother putting it up for an MOT when it expires. Its fooked.

It has a few mechanical ailments with a random "not-starting" fault which needs trakcking down and is discouraging me from using it much at the mo.
Basically the lower panel extremities are becomeing lacy. The boot floor is going through in holes and a couple of the body mounts have become detatched. There is a small hole in the bulkhead where a seam has blown and collected water. theres rot in other odd places
It needs to get into the dry (and prefferably under repair) or it will be a donor car before long.
It won't (or at least shouldn't) pass another MOT so I can save the £40 and spend that on POR15 or something.
Sad thing is when I bought this car there was like no rot at all (1998 or 1999 I forget). Just the original faded paint, I haven't been able to stop her deteriorating in her "patina" which is a shame.
