Found these photos in a box of mags I was given by Guz. Maybe he knows the owner fo the Mog or maybe some of the other vehicles in the photos? Thought I would share thjem as its one hurculean task which has been undertaken here... "not looking too promicing" "rust free body" (note the two red Mk5 Cortinas. The Triumph 2000 does not appear on the DVLA computer) An excercise in perspective? "Misty blue." The Mk2 Cortina was still taxed until a month ago. Date of Liability 01 05 2007 Date of First Registration 01 05 1970 note the tax in still in perfect sync with the date of registration... So where is it now? "Here's looking at you kid" Vinal photo in the set. Interesting reg checkon the Morgan.... Date of Liability 01 07 2006 Date of First Registration 10 05 1993 Year of Manufacture 1959 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1172CC I presume these photos are from 1993 & earlier then as it would have been registered when it went back on the road after resto. Its been untaxed and not SORN for a year. Wonder what the story is with that then? I guess thats a Ford side valve under the hood. I just want to know whats going on with these cars now. Kinda like a little mystery. Or am I just sad?

Amazing! Quite a resto, i'm sure whoever it is will be sad to have lost those pics. Equally amazing is Autofives tracking skillzorZ! Wicked! So what about these Morgans then, how old would that one be? Did they always have steel bodies? I'm sure one I drove had an ally body with an ash frame (and a V8!) When did they start making them?

the Morgan is a 1959 4. Its obviously been off the road a long time and its registration was taken off the DVLA computer (or was never added when they converted the last of the old log books to V5s in 1984. So when iot wa restores it had to be registered again. However there was obviously enough evidence for it to get its old reg number back. Thats why date of registration is 1993 and date of manufacture is 1959. Either that or its been abroad for a while.
Autofive - you are the king of sleuths! Result! I didn;t spot the Export marker! I wonder why they keep a date of liability set if its exported?

yeah, but you can't be liable for the road tax back to the time of export can you? If the car spends 5 years in Ireland and comes back to the UK the new importer doesn't have to pay 5 years back tax!

thats true - but if you look at the for sale ad. owner states 50 euros paid to keep the UK reg number - so maybe the paperwork hasnt filtered through to the DVLA yet

Hello guys just registered to post about this, I was the owner of BYY 350H from 2003-2006 and sold the car to Ireland. As autofive mentioned I have contacted the owner prior to me and this is what he had to say;
