The 216gsi is a nice clean car, had two of these one brand new back in 95, needs a set of mg alloys and a tad lower! Perfect

That's the best looking TD5 I've ever seen, really like what you've done there. Subtle mods have made it look really modern, but modern in a good way.
Oh, and nice Triumph.

Thanks yeah the TD5 was off road spec when I bought it but now is a nice everyday car. So update from today. Had a few hours tinkering once id replaced a rear wheel bearing on my Disco so had a better look round her. Then had to concoct some ramps to get it on the lift: Had a ganders underneath: Can see where its been hitting: Noticed its missing a washer from here: Should be like this: Also needs some track rod ends which ive ordered. Also needs some bushes but Euro Car Parts don't list those so I need to find someone who does so I can replace them once the arms are clean and painted: Started wire brushing it ready for the underseal: Now as far as the wheel debate goes (as these are TR7 wheels and apparantly fit differently to a Toledo/Dolomite). Mine has hubcentric for the centre bore, and the wheel studds are very tight on the wheel. There is zero movement. Look perfectly safe to me or am I wrong? So next is to carry on cleaning underneath and paint it up, I will be raising the engine and box an inch to clear the subframe then make some more adjustments to try and keep a similar stance without hitting the tarmac as much! Also want to basic wheel nuts, not the large chrome ones it has. Tested a 2002 MG wheel nut and was exactly the same so hopefully I can use some steel wheel nuts from a Rover 25/45 as long as they are flat and not pitched. Otherwise ill need to find something else. Then more to do but ill do a bit at a time!

Forgot to say I've still got the original wheels with chrome centre caps if you'd rather get them banded and use them, although I'm not sure the smaller studs (same as the old thin mini ones) would take the torque of a v6 or v8

Really looking forward to seeing the Toledo progress.
What underseal are you planning on using? It would benefit from some Zinc primer on all the bare metal, it's supposd to be really good stuff

Fungus, ive used zinc primer before, but this stuff is called Jotun Jotamastic 87 Epoxy Marine. Lethal stuff but apparantly the dog danglies. Ive used U-Pol Raptor on my land rover interior floors and its lasting very very well but been told this stuff is like concrete so going to give that a go

Some purchases turned up today. First off the new plates: Then the N.O.S rear lights. I don't need them but whilst they are available I may as well get them: And all the underseal/paint kit including a suit, respirator, goggles, rollers etc: Looking forward to getting cracking next week!

You can swap the studs out for Freelander studs - they'll give you an M12 thread rather that the weedy 7/16th you have in there now. I have a set of slightly ratty slot mags in 95.25 PCD flavour if they're of any interest.
Nice fleet by the way.

Cheers! I stripped out the carpet today and removed the gearbox tunnel ready for painting the underneath. I didnt leave it in as I'm told this paint drys like concrete and didnt want it 'stuck' in after. Also changed the shocks today for Dolly ones and its lifted it 5 inches. I think ill need to go get some custom springs!

So today then.... Heres how it sat with the other shocks on: Stripped off the exhaust and prop: Should there be any kind of guide for the handbrake cable? Seems odd to just pass through and continually rub on the bracket: Dropped the axle: Popped next door for a cuppa where my neighbour is creating a couple of beauties: Then i got donned up and got cracking: Rubbed down the underside but didnt get any pics of that, then made a start on the inner arch stripping: Bare metalling them and going to have them sprayed up. Ive decided I'm going for the proper rat type look. Original Rough patina'd body and mind underside and running gear.
