the connector block of death is in such good condition I will put some contact cleaner on it and keep it yeah.

Nice. I always have easy access to milspec connectors and think. That would be lovely. Maybe I will one day.

A little more done, intercooler bracket added, oil cooler fixed in position and hoses laid out in the bar for cooling. I'm going for a cleanish bay so a new header tank was ordered and fitted in the scuttle area. hoses will do for now to get her running and ill replace for silicone at a later date. I also got hold of a turborenault.co.uk true 2.5 inch downpipe, just need to buy a system to mate up to it now, 2.5 inch side exit should fit nicely.

retro show at pod? unfortunately not. Retro rides gathering is my target at the mo. got to go away for work again soon so that kills off any chance of working on it in the eves.

so i have an issue with getting no spark at the mo that i hope is just a tdc sensor, so I'm waiting for one in the post which gave me time to give the front bumper a lick of paint and get it back on. Looks very unsuspecting now  from this  to this    will be ripe for some sneaky up stealth action |

cheers buddy, should be fun, the first iteration should have around 150bhp, not much but with a potential sub 800kg weight (need to get it on a bridge) itll be fun. Id like to tweak it to circa 200 which isnt hard to do on these. will be a flyer then

stock steels, will get them banded at some point, possibly run on something a little sticky. just so at a glance it will look oem

cheers, pictures make her look better than she is but certainly very clean for an old renault 5. other than an odd spot of rust on the drivers door theres none on the bodywork. underneath is solid and the jacking points don't look flattened or squashed too much either. Great base shell to work with. Used to be a prop car so I'm told so has had a little looking after over the years.

So home from work, package waiting, new tdc sensor and a new king lead. Poped the bonnet up and bolted that up as I hadn't yesterday. Fitted up new parts and nothing, no spark. So I'm scratching my head starting to get wound up with the car.......
Look over everything, oh yeah plug the HT into the aei lol, we have spark!!!!!!! Yay! Quick blast of carb cleaner down the carb, crank again and boom a quick few strokes of life in the engine (y) I can now work on getting fuel to the carb

Thats really looking quite smart now. What you need is a set of wider steel wheels and wheel trims, full plastic ones either genuine Renault or even Halfords ones then nobody would ever know !

first actual start up whilst testing the fuel lines
followed by a slightly longer one
considering she hasnt ran for a while i ws very surprised she took so easily

Stock t2 for now, that's just with the downpipe on at the mo, waiting on a side exit to come up. Not bad for first crank powered up
