1988 BMW M535i manual Silver £3495
MOT until 07 November '15

Dungannon, Northern Ireland
This is an E28 M535i in Lachs Silver with shadowline trim and cloth sport interior.
The 3430cc M30 runs well and starts first time, no starter or compression issues. The manual (H-pattern) gearbox attached to it is direct without any synchro crunching. The LSD locks up as it should. Being an M535i it has Bilstein suspension which is all in good order. The mechanicals were all checked over for the stringent NI MOT test less than 1000 miles ago so they can be assumed all to be in a good operational standard.
The interior is the anthracite option with dark gray seats and carpets, and black dash and door cappings. The seats move fine, no broken linkages, and all the interior trim parts are present, none missing. The interior could do with some minor tidying however, and the driver seat has a tear in the centre which could be stitched back together. There is a rear blind which is rare, and also it has the matching rear headrests from factory. It has an original Blaupunkt radio which is working as it should, and the fader button is still there which is unusual. There is also a rare on-board computer which works but has a little bit of bleeding on the screen.
To the bodywork, and the exterior is reasonably presentable. There are a few small rust blemishes around the car, and it has had a repair to the driver side inner arch at the wing top, which is strong (passed MOT) but very unsightly. The driver wing was replaced last year - arch extension still needs refitted and is included. The bumpers suffer from having a few scratches and knocks around them, and the front lower corners have had the M-technik ridges smoothed over with filler although this should hopefully all be removed by the time of sale. All the tow eye covers for the bumpers and sideskirts are present which is a wonder in itself. The drivers door has a rust bubble in the middle of the outer skin, and there is one in the sunroof panel and a couple around the rear valance and rear arches. The rear passenger door has some denting around the handle which would need filled and painted (or a new door, approx £50).
There are metal metro plates fitted but also a set of metal standard font plates in the boot if you prefer.
The rear lights are factory shadowline (black trim) but the driver side has a cracked lens which would need replaced although does not let white light show. The front lights come equipped with the rare headlight wiper system which still surprisingly has all its wiper blades accounted for. Front fogs work but have cracked lenses as is usual for these cars (£30 each new). It has rare clear front indicator lenses.
All in all it would make a good rolling project. It has a substantial MOT so can be driven whilst being tidied up, and none of the niggles that need worked out are points that would stop it driving. It's offered at this price to allow for the remaining work, and the price is absolutely firm.
