So I've seen a 1993 running Fiat Panda for potentially £200 no T&T in black, 86k, just a steady 1 litre, and for some reason, I've got the I wants, I've always thought they're quite ugly, but there's something about it looking forlorn that's attracting me to it, am I strange, or is this something that happens with age (I'm nearing 30 quicker than I want!!) now that you don't see them about? (though there is 1 slowly rotting round the corner), though it does appear to have a Ferrari steering wheel so that's probably worth more than the car! Pics of said Panda Just look at that retro interior (retro for me!)

Panda's are cool (and underrated imo), there was a few nice ones posted in this thread earlier.

Pandas are kind of marmite cars - some people love 'em, some don't. I used to hate them, but over the past year I've come to realise I was wrong. Go for it.

They have so much potential. I just sold my Seat Marbella, (which is basically a mk1 panda) great little car, was really hard to resist making it into an epic project!

It's Italian, it'll sound like a wasp that's been kicked in the rollocks when driven hard and that steering wheel and seats combo... WIN!
What ya waiting for? Go buy it... NOW.

Buy it. I'll pretty much guarantee you won't regret it. Fantastic cars, easy to fix, fun handling, thrash proof engines, economical, etc. I'd have another in a shot if I didn't have too many cars already.

Of course you want a Panda!
They are great! There is great beauty in their simplicity. They are cheap, easy to fix, cool, have great potential, and being Italian are built to rev! Above all, they are FUN!
Back in the 80s I worked with a bloke who had one. He used to move stock between shops in it. The amount it could carry was unbelievable. He also went on holiday to the South of France in it. He said he just sat on the motorway at 80 the whole way. With a load of wine in the back, of course!
For £200 you can't go wrong......

If you're worried about what people think about your car, you're in the wrong place. Just sayin'...

I drove and crashed one back in 1991 - not comfortable for a long journey. Came off second best when parked into the back of a Datsun Bluebird estate.

The only one I've ever driven was a hire car in Tenerife around 1996, it self destructed in an impressively large cloud of steam for such a small engine half a mile from the hire place. I walked back to the office and the bloke just shrugged, gave me the keys for a fiesta and sent someone down the road to push it back.

I had one for over three years back in the late 90's, I thrashed it, crashed it (a few times) and generally abused this loving little car, for a small engine it would fly in the first 3 gears, but lacked the power in the other 2, back as mentioned above it would happily cruise at 80 all day on the motorway, super little car which having seeing some of the above pics I'd wish I still had 1000S and a pic for you of my old one parked with my mates cars at that time moles panda and others by moleadrian, on Flickr

not had a panda (yet) but have been through 126 and cinquecentos (same fire engine?) and love me some little fiat
I don't have space and already have two cars but if I could get that for £200 I'd be having it myself!

I've had three, first one needed welding near where the rear beam attached so fixed thet and then bought a second to replace the noisy gearbox. It was OK but then a better spec one came up for sale cheap so I used all the good bits from the first one and made it a half decent little car. It was quite nippy and despite rolling in corners a lot was fun to drive.
The only trouble with stuff like this now is that you just don't see many in yards anymore so cheap used bits are more difficult to get hold of.

Great little cars that have taken over my life for the past 13 years cheap to repair, cheap to insure, 50mpg, can accommodate a bloke who is 6ft 5in tall , can take a washing machine in the back, the FIRE engine is non contact should the timing belt go, and prices are going to go up soon. Main thing you need to check for is rust, everything else is easy to fix. Selecta pandas on the other hand are amazing when they work, but a swine when they don't.
