I'm going drifting in the Volvo tomorrow so I collected some wheels and a propshaft from the unit for tomorrow, in the mk1. I'll need to blow out the idle jets as it doesn't seem to want to idle without the choke and I've checked thoroughly for air leaks.

Got shot of the Beetle, not my thing. Replaced it with something similarly laid out... Rusty Less rusty Still more to do though It needs a head gasket (and potentially fitting of a spare head I've bought), heater pipes, a radiator, a carpet and that's about it aside welding.

I love the wee Imp too and I've not even had it a fortnight yet. Cheers, the Cortina is 27 years older than me!

Nice set you have...and love the colours too.
I had the hatchback version of your 18 - the 11. Loved it - super comfortable. Does yours have the quirky seat mechanism that rocks the chair like a childs rocker chair?

Cheers! I think you're thinking of the 9, it's the saloon version of the 11. The Fuego is really the hatchback version of the 18! However I do know what you're on about, the weird single rail seat mech on the 9s and 11s, (fortunately) the 18 is void of this!

Haha don't worry, only Renault anoraks seem to know what it actually is. "Is that a 19?" "Is that a 12?" etc has become common petrol station forecourt chat for me!

If he had said the hatchback version the Fuego then fair enough but I'm not really seeing the comparisons between an 18 and 11.

Changed heater hoses on Imp, what a pain. Also bought this Volvo 440 from FOAD to donate its engine to my 340. Today I have been mostly applying body filler, this is my least favourite part of the bodywork repair process. I've been efficient-ish in doing two cars at the same time, so whilst I wait for one to harden, I sand/apply to the other.

My little Imp is on the road now, only issue with the car is a misfire when accelerating. I've bought a load of new ignition parts so here's hoping that sorts it. Due to the simplicity, it's either this, or the carb, so if this doesn't sort it, I'll fit a single Stromberg CD150 I was very kindly given by an Imp Club member, but this will mean I need a sport throttle cable. The timing belt snapped on the 18, so that's mothballed at the minute. I also swapped my Polo for this 360 saloon which has taken over daily duties - I really quite like this. I'll need to take the engine out of the Cortina again to change the clutch as it was slipping like mad last time I drove it. Rock on....
