You need to sell this very quick! It's too 'new' for your scene....looking forward to what Mrs P.Popper had to say about it.

I love the last line. Wonder how much you're going to get for this when you sell it on...

Friend of mine in work has a 2.0 Tdci c max, I (shoot me now) really like it, has Focus ST wheels and a remap, it's properly nippy.

Yes jpr1977 , I must admit that if I do manage to buy my mechanics Navara I could see that I might lose that quite quickly! I would like it, it's pretty straight, and drives quite well. I used it to tow my Celeste, so I know it tows really well too. The thing is though that he kinda wants too much for it in my opinion, however the other side to that is that I know that even though it has next to no service history, he's kept it up together. I dunno... But I'm thinking about it. So, a bit of a double posting tonight, first up... Episode 103. Mitsubishi Celeste. PEL 837W. (Part 4).Seven pictures of the Celeste, and I'll follow that with... Are you sure you want to know what Mrs Pistonpopper thinks? Episode 104. Ford C-Max. FD04 NLX. (Part 2).Four pictures of the beautiful C-max.

Can´t you just swap the cmax for that honda your wife did not dislike THAT much? Your not-girlfriend just wanted any car quick, maybe she could live with that ford?

Quite conflicted on this one! My first car was a similar vintage fiesta, whilst I admit not that inspiring to drive I did love it.
4 years later and Mrs Riggs wanted out of her 2003 fiesta and into a 2006 focus (not the cmax) and that was just heavier and more bloated. It was never a great drive with the 1.8tdci 115bhp engine, but it was pretty bulletproof doing 47k over 6 years with just basic servicing and 2x intercooler hoses. A few car changes here and there she has recently found herself in a 2017 Sportage. It is really uninspiring to drive and just a bit 'Meh'. However last year I was carless and found myself in a 2003 fiesta 1.4 for just £150 with 72,000 miles on the clock.
It was identical to my first car (which is still in the family) bar for being petrol and a sunroof. I went out with my brother and we both agreed it was a much better drive than anything modern (2003 isn't modern now...) The steering feel is great, whilst it doesn't set the world on fire , keep it in the right rev range around the twisties it can be great fun.
I did have a hard decision a few weeks back when the fiesta's clutch decided it wanted to slip. A lot. I decided that it would be worth doing myself for the £120 or so it would cost. 2 weeks later I finally got the clutch and spent the weekend swapping it out and I am so glad i did. It also helps I put a complaint in to the inept car parts place about their shoddy customer service. They proved how stupid they where when they gave me a £25 refund, twice.
I do find myself lusting over a mk2 focus around 2006, but I would want to go for the 2.5 ST.
Saying all that, I would never, ever buy a c-max.

Had a c max for years. Sold it Just a month ago. Most effortless car we ever owNed, but we needed a van for our pub. Otherwise we would still have it. Great for langer distances, great seats , epic loadingspace and complete thrust worthy. Loved the 75000 miles we drove the car. My wife really misses it.

pistonpopper .. I'm gald your not selling the Celeste just yet. Give me chance to save some pennies!! as bagsies first refusal when you do! :-P Get saving lol, but you've left first refusals a bit late, could you live with being third? Can´t you just swap the cmax for that honda your wife did not dislike THAT much?
Well, to be fair my not-girlfriend probably would take the C-max, it's just that (and don't tell Mrs Pistonpopper) I don't want the Honda back... I don't feel old enough yet, although I did find myself in Tesco earlier eyeing up a pair of Corduroy trousers, so maybe? Quite conflicted on this one! My first car was a similar vintage fiesta, whilst I admit not that inspiring to drive I did love it.
I can't comment for your Fiesta, but like your Sportage I find the C-max is really uninspiring to drive and as you say, just a bit 'Meh'. The sad thing Is that I quite like the Focus, and have threatened her with an early Focus Estate, this was met with a firm NO, No focus' (Focii?) of any description, and I'm guessing this means that the C-max is out! Had a c max for years. Sold it Just a month ago... Loved the 75000 miles we drove the car. My wife really misses it. Funnily enough that seems to be the sentiment of the internet... I popped the C-max post up on the same day as the Celeste post, and currently, the C-max has had 74 views, whereas the Celeste has had just 35 views. Funny, I would've thought it would've been the other way around. So lots of love for the C-max... I wonder what I'm missing? "....My wife really misses it. " I know where there's one for sale ...cheap .
I don't know if it'll be cheap lol. Actually I've got a chap interested who just wants the engine and transmission for his broken one. Funny really when you think how my little adventure with the C-max started! Anyhoo, tonights words of wisdom or otherwise are about the Daewoo, and has just six photos! I figured that we'd not had anything about it for a while, so here it is... Episode 106. Daewoo Korando. W412 VLU. (Part 6).

Approx 120 Korandos left according to HML, of which just less than half are taxed, and not a single one on ebay. If you do sell it, you have to know you are not having/finding another anytime soon. Are you done with it? Like, really done, had your fun, ready to move on? Doesn't sound like it. But you also have some actual interest, and odd cars can be hard to sell...

Ok, this might be a bit convoluted, but hear me out. Let your wife drive the Trans Am. Really, you are just jealous that she's driving it and not you. Get rid of the CMax, and turn the Celeste in to your American car. I give you, the Plymouth Fire Arrow/ Mitsubishi Celeste.

I'd be a bit worried about a gypsy in the bush who carries around enough cash to buy a car on the spot and leave you with nothing but firewood and a chainsaw... :-P
I suppose if you do decide to sell it, meet him at a convenient petrol station or something instead of outside your house? You know, takes of dodgy folk bringing back trashed cars along ith arge friends demanding refunds, etc

Are you done with it? Like, really done, had your fun, ready to move on? Doesn't sound like it. But you also have some actual interest, and odd cars can be hard to sell... 120 left? Thats not many! I'm not really properly done with it if I'm honest, but like you say, I have actual interest, and odd cars are hard to sell. Spoiler alert... Between you and me (erm, and everyone else on the forum) I have a feeling that the Trans Ams days are numbered... I'll let you know more when I know more! As for the Plymouth Arrow, well, I've had an interest in getting one of these for a while now... A Dodge Ram D50... Or Celeste Pick Up if you like. I might have to start a proper search for one now, the trouble is the pund is so weak against the dollar I'm not sure it would be worth bringing one home at the moment, not that I've found one for sale! I'd be a bit worried about a gypsy in the bush who carries around enough cash to buy a car on the spot and leave you with nothing but firewood and a chainsaw... :-P I suppose if you do decide to sell it, meet him at a convenient petrol station or something instead of outside your house? You know, takes of dodgy folk bringing back trashed cars along ith arge friends demanding refunds, etc I completely understand what you're saying, I still think about the first time I sold a car to some Gypsies, quite frightening at the time...

Hope you remembered to take your chainsaw out!
What's the deal with selling road going vehicles over there? I imagine there's a bit more to it than just handing over cash, as there'd be no proof of transfer if it was used in a crime, etc.
Here, there is a transfer of registration. And generally you would sign a piece of paper saying you bought such and such car with such and such VIN..

Don't worry, I took the chainsaw out, although I did leave the little folding stool in there. The fella was quite short and I figured he would probably find it useful.
As for selling road going vehicles, it's pretty simple really, all you do is fill in the V5c which is the registration documents or log book if you like. Just fill in the new keepers name and address, then send it of to the center for lost documents, also known as the DVLA, they update their records on their database (sometimes) and send the documents with the new keepers name on it to the new keeper. But thats only if the new keeper has given you the right address. The last time, when I sold my Ranger to the travellers the address they gave me turned out to be a fish and chip shop about 200 miles away from the address their van had. But anyway, thats pretty much it really. I always give them a receipt too, and get them to sign one for me to say they've bought it, and they're happy with it. But you don't need to, thats just for my peace of mind.

And off it goes!
I notice a red Forester in the background of the drive-away shot. Perhaps that should be the next feature?
And the Matiz really is that bad. Save yourself the horror.
Dealing with gypsies and/or travellers can be very hit and miss. You've seen both ends of the scale now!
