If the body kit is genuine Mtech 2,that alone is worth £400...plus £200 scrap value, makes it a £600 car in my view. Ya can't polish a turd.

break it mate , worth more in bits than as a car ,
as above if kit is genuine its worth some money
steering wheel worth a few quid if decent
front strut casings should be the 51mm ones and if good are desirable
then also if the lsd is still there and working thats a 500 quid item on its own
i sold a cracking h plate sport (fair enough it was a cat c) with rare spec of heated seats, cruise con and air con , with a sunroof and mot'd for a year. that made £3200.

See now this is why I don't get some people If it was up breaking I would have had 1000 posts saying why are you breaking it! don't break it! How much complete! I am well aware of what the parts are worth and what a car in this condition is worth I didn't want to break this as it hasn't been messed around with and is what it is. Low owners and quite a bit of history! I'm not fussed if it don't sell but it will be a shame Ps if anyone has M tech 2 kits for £400 or a car for £600 drop a line

I'll have ten of them please, and another ten next month... i sold a cracking h plate sport (fair enough it was a cat c) with rare spec of heated seats, cruise con and air con , with a sunroof and mot'd for a year. that made £3200. underpriced then. if it had no rust it was a £4-5k car minimum. Sports are disappearing at a frankly scandalous rate, I get the exact same responses - either "you shouldn't be breaking that, its too good" when you do, or when you don't it's "you're asking too much for that, it's a wreck". Someone is offering a chance to get a Sport before it gets turned to bits, giving the car another chance to live on... and then someone weighs in with a £250 figure... is it any wonder people in the old car market break so many rare cars? That's the attitude that is responsible for me breaking countless rare and expensive cars without offering them for sale first.

The problem lies with people asking ridiculous prices, for what is frankly a pile of sh*t. Break it, its worth more in bits. Thats exactly what i'd do with this vehicle. And when you break a car, it helps keep numerous others on the road.
ps....i had a e30 325i sport, with genuine M-Tech 2 bodykit. THe kit went on ebay auction, for £400.....the problem lies with individuals putting a fixed price, at quite frankly ridiculous prices.

Started something there, did I guys?? lmao.. Well ,I didn't say break it..i for one have broken many Montego's (no jokes please ) to keep other "alive" on the road..but a e30 is a special car now..specially a black sport/mtec/ or what ever spec, imho... But for this car...I think ebay is best with a £1000 start and reserve of £2500..hey ,who knows, even at xmas..it may just go through the roof in price... ill be shocked, but whatever the outcome...ill say good luck with the sale ,regardless

Bodywork, brakes and paint job puts this beyond economical repair, surely?
There's a good one on eBay with leather for sub £5k.

PM me please I want to discuss this. For some reason when I try to PM you it says I need to log in even though I am logged in. Grrr Technology. There's a mobile number at the top of the ad - best way to get in touch I would have thought? As for all those RR's telling the OP what they personally value the car at, shame on you. Maybe they missed point number two on the RR Modus Operandi: If you haven't got something constructive to say, say nothing. Seriously, grow up. As for the OP, good luck with your sale.

This is the specialist breaker's dilemna.
I've had it umpteen times and explained it in adverts often. I've seen both Hussain and Will advertising these type of cars before too.
We buy in a car that is either desireable in itself or is well specified with desireable bits.
There is no profit in restoring it for sale. In the case of this car you spend £5000 restoring it to make a car worth........£5000. With E24s it is worse, that's £10000 to restore it into an £8000 car.
So you offer it for sale as a complete project first, but, you're not going to sell it to a breaker because you'd just break it yourself and take the profit, and you know the value of the car in bits, so while you might take a little less than you'd get breaking it, you've a business to run, mouths to feed and it has to be priced close to its breaker value.
These cars in my experience ALWAYS end up being broken for spares.
However, If you can do the work yourself you might get yourself a cheap sport.
Never buy a sport in Birmingham though. ;-)

As has been pointed out £400 for a Tech2 kit is 2009 pricing. Unfortunately so is £200 scrap value. £45 per ton last week! That makes a stripped E30 shell worth £38 and a full car less than £70.

I don't tend to comment on for sale ads, but I will here as I think this is worth restoring rather than breaking. Price depends on what people want to pay obviously, but here's a pic of mine for inspiration - same colour, model and year
