Love that hiace had considered buying it myself, if I won the lotto. Another one of Myles Cooper's imports. Is that your bj40 in the pic too? [br Yes that was my landcruiser as well. Sold it a few months ago. Spot on with the name. I'm Myles

Update on "Lazarus" - only 40,000 on the clock, however the rust...... Currently getting all the rust removed/fixed. Garage have replaced suspension bushes, steering bushes, bearings, rear cross member, fuel tank welding, fuel lines, handbrake cable, drum pads on rear, loads of rust but only now does the guy tell me he cant get replacements for the disc brakes! The rear drums are fine, however the front discs are knackered. They have a very specific profile, Toyota cant get hold of them either. I have found these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-BRAKE-DISCS-AND-PADS-FOR-TOYOTA-HI-ACE-2-0-1-1978-12-1983-/262186624636?hash=item3d0b8a667c:g:rdEAAOSwNphWass9And these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APEC-FRONT-BRAKE-DISCS-FOR-TOYOTA-COMMERCIAL-HI-ACE-2-0-1-1978-12-1983-3883-/301142710771?hash=item461d8119f3:g:qh8AAOxyTMdTPFSFBut am not sure. Does anyone have any spare discs? I would be more than willing to buy them off you Nick

Hi Manxman, good looking Hiace you have there, you have good taste I put mine into a friend to get it repaired, it needed lots of work to the sills but was surprisingly solid underneath. It depends how much needs done but Ive seen them go for £10k+ for a restored one, there is one on eBay at the moment for over £8k so they are worth a bit when restored. I see yours is the LWB, is it the 2.0 engine? Is there many spares for them over in the IOM? I could do with a couple of bumpers! Mine was originally from the IOM. I thought there was no test in the Isle if it was before a certain age? I'll get some more pictures up in the next few days, just done a weber carburettor conversion on her Hiya supersunbeam, Its a 2.0 LWB It hadnt been taxed for 3 years so needed to pass its Manx MOT It lived in Dorset for many years apparently doing nothing but rotting in the sea air. Ive got paperwork going back to 1978 for it though and its been up the alps in the 80's it seems! Swiss garage paperwork for new brake pads. Its only done 38k since 1978 though so the engine is great apparently. Worst thing is that the previous owner painted the whole front dash in GLOSS WHITE paint....I tried to get it off but its damaged the plastic dash. So I have had to spray it matt black. Its still being repaired unfortunately. Have had to wait for 6 months or so due to one thing and another, however the guys at the garage are nearly done. Here is what they have done: Re-built window sills, wheel arches, door sills, front and back cross member repaired New suspension shocks and bushes Hand brake cable Overhaul Carburettor Brake Hoses all round Choke Cable Steering bushes New front brake discs and pads New Horn! Wiper blades Replaced all Fuel Lines Welded exhaust brackets Air Filter Oil Filter New Spark Plugs 1 x New Headlight Head Gasket(just in case) Battery Tyres all round Welded spare wheel carrier So not much then..... Havent got any spares at the moment but will let you know if I do. Is yours known as a "RIO" ?
