Details
Date: Friday 17th July to Monday 20th July
Location: Chateau Rive Sarthe (Google Map Link)
Cost: £60 for three nights, includes continental breakfast (when in Rome and all that). (note this doesn’t include crossing the channel, we’re leaving that up to you )
Activities
Day time We’re still deciding what to do on which days, however we’re likely to be visiting Le Mans track museum itself, which is a much more pleasurable experience when large events aren’t on. The Matra museum is a manageable cruise away as well and contains a quite brilliant collection of road cars to race cars. A drive around the public bits of the Le Mans circuit for photos and general merriment wouldn’t be difficult to arrange either. There are also a host of other activities that can be done in the area at the Chateau. We’ll give full details of what we’ve worked out when we can give a full list, rest assured we’ll make it as fun as can be.
Evenings We’ll have a projector, a sound system, good food, good drink and great company. What more do you need?
Travel
Our suggested mode of transport would be Eurotunnel, it is super quick, can handle low cars and will put groups of cars that are clearly together on at the same time. We’re not being prescriptive though, and whilst we’d suggest part of the joy of the trip will be the cruise down from Calais, if you want come into another port and head to the chateau then that is all good. You don’t have to bring your retro car, but as a wise man once said “it’d be a lot cooler if you did”.
Accommodation
Chateau Rive Sarthe has a full camping grounds, showers and toilets. There are a handful of solid parking areas for camper vans/RVs with electrical hookups. If you don’t have a tent we can offer pre-erected tents with all the stuff you need for a very pleasant camping experience for £50. Or maybe you’d prefer stone walls and a solid roof, in which case we have a number of Gites available for groups to stay in, drop us an email and we’ll get a list to you of what is available, they are ideal for clubs.
