I have had an EFI issue for the last 2 weeks. It has been crazy, ordering the correct diagrams, learning how to use the data, getting the ECU to TELL ME what it wants, it's been a challenge.
I am almost there. It runs decent, still needs a bit of tweaking on the fueling portion but progress is happening.
I mean, all that's left before a test drive, are brakes and umm, brakes. Transmission linkage, yeah- that's the other thing.
Almost got the ECU doing it's job properly so Hopefully there will be a video soon.

Finally got the ECU doing it's job properly. I got the 02 sensors working and it comes out of Open Loop and is finally running right.
I have yet to plumb the fuel lines permanently, plumb all the brake lines and mount some calipers, connect the driveshaft as well as connect the transmission linkage.
I bet the test drive vide is only a couple weeks out.

That sounds great, love it. The engine looks such a great fit in that bay.

We now resume your regularly scheduled broadcasting. Thank you, 1998 V6 Honda Accord for the brakes. I just have to make adapters and run the lines. These will work.

I've mounted one out of the four corners. The rear caliper brackets are bolted to basically a steel plate that is part of the lower control arm. I cut off the factory tabs and made a spacer plate and welded it on. I then made a new plate to weld on over top of that with the 2 holes in it, to accept the Honda V6 caliper. The car that I took these from, had it's brakes serviced within the last few months, everything is in really good shape. I will also be able to connect a hand brake to these rear calipers. They are very similar to MR2 rears. Sorry for the junk phone pics. I'll try to do the other rear tomorrow night when I get home. If I can get the brakes done by the weekend, there might be a very low speed test run in the near future.

Two down, two to go. The rears are on. Lots of brake line bending to do, but fortunately I know a thing or two about pipe. (there's a joke in there somewhere, go ahead)

Looks like some good parts right there! It's long gone I'm afraid. That pic is about 15 years old!

The car now has all four of it's brake calipers mounted. I'll start the brake line piping tomorrow. I have some different suspension I'd like to try, so we're still 1-2 weeks out for the test drive.

Ok, So I noticed a few things today. The endless hours of fabrication on the brake caliper brackets had me so tired of cutting, drilling and grinding steel that I decided to read this thread all over from the beginning. They're all done, it has four calipers and they're not going anywhere. The Maserati now has brakes from a 1998 V6 Honda Accord. It was boring work. Someday I will have a CAD program and a CNC machine. But until then, I do it the hard way. In reading the thread, I noticed- 1. The way I cut the front springs, wasn't actually enough. I actually need to either heat up and bend the next coil down, or cut another one off, because what I took off that spring, barely lowered it. 2. The rear struts I put on the car, they're not going to work, I'll make adapters and use the Bilstein ones that I bought on Craig's List. AFTER I get the front spring height right. I took a couple pics, while I was cleaning up the garage, after mounting the calipers. I think I have four LONG sessions of bracket fabricating in it, and the floor was a MESS. This car is SMALL! When you look at it next to a regular (well, regular for us over here in the states) sized car, this thing is TINY. It has a V8 in it... hahaha That part is kickass. The Exhaust is not welded permanently, the fuel pump is not plumbed permanently, so don't mind what you see in the pictures. 3. I'm tired of looking at this car without it's bumpers on it. I need to SEE progress and this thing is ugly as fook. I think for a break, I'll pull the bumpers out of the Moto Trailer and do some fiberglass & body work. I need to do something different because fabrication sucks after 20+ hours in a few days. The car runs sweet. It has brakes. (Well, brake calipers anyway) I am in possession of the drive shaft. I can finish the exhaust, hang the prop shaft and plumb the brake lines. I need a change of pace, so I think I'm moving to the body work for tomorrow.

Progress is progress mate, even If you cannot see it.
Continue to enjoy your build from the comfort of my armchair.
Thanks for the updates.

Got top agree with grizz and Paul Barrett sometimes you want to do something different to take a break from what seems like the major task to keep yourself sane - with me it was totally unnecessary work on quartering bumpers when clearly I had bigger tasks to do - it's just a way of diverting the brain and giving time to re-charge the mojo and batteries...... Reminds me I must go and comment on another thread where mojo seemed to be an issue

I think any of us that take on projects like this must have some form of ADHD. Not only do I jump from one part of the car to another but sometimes I begin work on another car altogether. As long as we keep at it the project eventually gets done and we can move on to the next one that's already been taking up space in our brain.

It is really easy to lose the wind from your sails, at which point you need to do something different. I generally go make something out of wood for a bit, then come back to it later.
