Heres a thing.... Ive been noticing that there has been a lot of modded Mercedes cars apearing recently and it got me thinking that its about time that there was something to tie them all together as generally the Mercedes forums and clubs are full of yuppie types and old dudes! Well years ago when I had my first benz I came up with the idea of starting a 'club' called the Beirut taxis but never did anything with it. Anyway a couple of weeks back I was at a VW show with the Mrs and she asked why there wasnt a show like it for Mercedes cars? I said..........er......dunno! and got to thinking..... Anyway I just registered www.beirut-taxis.co.uk and hopefully with a bit of imagination we could do something with it! Ive got some designs for T Shirts and Stickers etc all I need now is a bit of support to push it further and make a Custom Mercedes 'scene' (I hate that word!) What do you think guys and girls?

Count me In. What do you recon: Lebanese flag (without tree) Arabic is an online translation of Beirut and Taxi The phone number takes the letter placings in the alphabet for mercedes and turns them into a number.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm not one for one-marque clubs (that's why I'm always on here!) but yeah, like TCC said, if it doesn't become too "scene", I'm up for that.

I must admit that I've only been to one Merc show with my Pagoda, and wouldn't again. The combination of snooty millionaires with their Gulwings, and the concours guys obsessing about how to fold soft tops without causing creases (shove a towel in between the folds apparently) was enough to bore me sensless. That said, my car isn't modified, and I don't think it would ever be sensible to modify it, so I'm not sure how welcome I'd be in the Beirut Taxis.....

All us Benz people have side on shots of our rides. How odd. Actually, you don't BenzBoy. Get one shot!
Forgot to mention, I'm interested.

You filthy, filthy man. God that sounds sweet Anyhow, I like the idea of the club. But wouldn't Beirut Taxis exclude S-Class owners?

There must have been some sort of executive or diplomatic service that would have come by some s - classes particularly as anything old big and reliable would be perfect. I'm more concerned with the lack of doors some of us have - a coupe taxi - not likely.

I don't know if it would stop me or not... it's just that the most I've spent on a car is £700 so if I balls it up it's no great loss. That idea does sound awesome though!
