Mine at the moment bought it last week 2.2 auto no heater and on chopped springs. Pimp! What's it like on the chopped springs? Bouncy, it's worse as the exhaust bangs against the body as it's lost the back box, makes it seek a lot worse. Think the whole exhaust is curse word as it's a bit like uncle bucks car at the minute lol

Let's lower the average age of the cars in this thread a bit with my daily drive and me at our offices. Been using her every day since 2011, covering about 16,000 miles a year. This'll be her 3rd winter and she's bearing up well. Dave

I took this pic on New Year's Eve 2011. Which sucked because it meant I was on mad earlies right across New Year... ...and now, almost exactly three years later, on Christmas Eve. Which sucked because it meant I was about to go home after driving the last train into the station before Christmas in actual fact, sometimes my job just sucks. Still daily driven though, only thing that's changed is ... well, everything really. Engine, porting, carburation, wheels, bodykit, suspension, interior... Oh, and the fuel edonomy's halved. Errrr. Winning Happy *@£$!* Christmas, lol

It's soaking up 20-40 miles a day with no issues. My only concern is that as it's so clean, low mileage, early and rot-free... Should I be doing this to it? Luckily they rarely salt the roads up here. Really enjoy it but I think I'll consider moving it on in Jan/Feb and replace it with something which will take the miles better. Prospect of a new job on the horizon as well, which would entail 60-100 miles a day of a-roads, b-roads and farm tracks - definitely not something I want to subject the Metro to... Then again, I could always keep it, run something like a mk3 Golf diesel on veg oil daily and book the Metro in for a modern engine conversion *n

Dave Unless you have driven one of these (in good fettle) you will really have no idea just how well they ride, more than a match for modern machinery. There wont be much better retro commuting machinery out there.

My old 2000sc was a right dog to look at but probably the best daily I've had...even with no heater(big coat as substitute) for a whole winter I still enjoyed it more than previous winters in the Viva
