I had an idea a while ago of getting an old series 2a 109 pick-up, and dropping it pretty much as you've done. I even found a Dinky Land Rover and made a scale mock-up of what I wanted to build I was at the Newbury Land Rover spares day a few weeks back and there was one of the plain front axles there, never seen one before, only read about them! My plan was to look at getting something like a Sherpa front beam axle and narrow it to the Land Rover width to get a little more rake, and keep some suspension as it would be an ideal working hack Awesome patina on that toy!

Returned from some time at Centre Parcs with friends and decided I could probably get something done before sunset. Radiator fan installed but not wired yet. Should help the cooling somewhat. And installed the wiper arms, had to buy adapters and then adapt them! Ridiculous! And managed to change all the spark plugs. Two of the old ones had cracks in the ceramic and they were all pretty sooty. More tomorrow!!

grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-jaguar-v12s/11706/page2/Interesting comments in this ^^ thread. Apparently he's made 290Bhp, from simply upgrading the ignition system, and modifying the intakes. The weird little elbow that the carbs attach to, is there to help low-temperature running IIRC. But as I doubt you'd be pootling around to town in the middle of winter in this beast, then it's probs not an addition you'll particularly miss May be easily possible to also fit a downdraught carb to each manifold, by blanking off the bottom, chopping the top off, and making an adaptor plate to suit said carbs? Just an idea

Insured this afternoon! MOT booked Thursday morning...
Just got to tidy up the cooling fan wiring, fix the brake light, before then.
Rear cracked window MOT failure?
If so I'll take it out.

To my knowledge - as long as it's not broken into sharp shards, it'll be fine

Ready for MOT!
Just doesn't run very smoothly. Kinda splutters through the rev range.
Anyone have a tuning manual for Stromberg 175CD with the double fuel mixture screws on the bottom?
Or indeed know how they are setup?

BTW It is the Haynes Zenith Stromberg book I have
