Started with fitting a new number plate plinth as old one was cracked at the top and was annoying me, eventually in time I will get the bumper smoothed and move the number plate Old number plate plinth: and new one fitted, looking alot better Next brought some new Side Repeaters and Chrome bulbs to go with them: Fitted to the car: Think it will look better with some matching clear bumper reflectors for the front so they match the side repeaters.

Been enjoying driving the car, took it to North Wales for a few days and had a great time on some awesome roads, especially the Llanberis Pass :thumb-up: Will put some more pics of the trip up when I have uploaded them and also got a few videos. Came home and these were waiting for me - Hoping to get these fitted this week, as the car needs lowering lol Also received an induction kit that ive fitted and decided to paint the lettering on the rocker cover to match

Brought some clear reflectors for the front bumper - Roll Bar arrived - Fitted a grille as car didnt have one when I brought it, sprayed the tow hooks black while I was at it to match the grille Applied my Pistonheads Smiley Also took out my Cabin brace and windblocker ready for my rollbar to be fitted next week, thought it would be rude not to see what it'll look like fitted Picked up car from the MX5 Restorer Stopped and took a few photos on my way home - Smoothed front Bumper, and smoothed rear panel and TR Lane GPV Roll Bar fitted,

Fitted my new Cobalt exhaust, some pics of it fitted - and a quick vid Sounds a lot quiter than the old system which is good but stills gives a sporty sound when the pedals pressed Fitted some retro stly door handles, Old plastic handle Vs New leather ones and how they look fitted, very happy with how they turned out - Decided to remove the raised lettering on the rear lights to make them look a bit better. Before - and after, still need to go over them with some renovator to remove some marks but looking smoother now Received an exciting parcel, some new MeisterR coilovers I brought in a group buy Hoping to get them fitted the weekend all going well, should improve the ride a lot over the TA Technix I've got Managed to get the rears fitted today, hoping to get the fronts fitted sometime this week if I get time Old Ta Technixs Vs shiny new MeisterR's, forgot to take any pics of them actually fitted lol And all fitted -

Went to take my car for a drive the other day and found a puddle of coolant underneath and my coolant tank nearly empty, turns out it was leaking from the heater hoses that go into the bulkhead, ordered some new ones from Autolink, all fitted and sorted now, glad it happened before my euro trip next week! Also decided to refit my original Airbox as the induction kit was getting quiet hot even with the heatshield fitted. Drilled a few holes in the bottom of it to let more air in, its alot quiter now compared to when the induction kit was fitted. Also fitted a GB sticker and gave the car a hoover out ready for my Euro trip next Saturday, travelling to France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium cant wait, gonna be awesome

Some may have seen I brought a Black Supercharged car of PainterDave but needed quiet a bit of work to get it up to scratch so decided to take the Charger set up off it and put it on this. Took it to Skuzzle Motorsport for Nick to swap the bits over from one car to the other and get it running ok and change the clutches. Picked it up last week and goes well for a basic setup, the extra power is definately what the car needed So Part that have been Fitted are: Jackson Racing Supercharger Kit with standard pulley Jackson Racing Powercard Bipes Intercooler Exedy Stage 1 Clutch CAS O'ring and Cam Gasket changed Probably other bits i've missed out, now a couple pics Brought some new ARB links and new bolts as old ones looked a bit knackered, also brought some Black Hammerite to have a go at painting the Suspension Arms and ARB's while I was at it. Been off last couple days so cracked on with the rear, what it looked like before I started - and all done on the rears now, also repainted the brake Calipers - Think they look alot better now painted and hopefully protect them from rust a bit more too. and the front before - and finished -

Thought i'd start to tidy the engine bay up a bit. Started with couple small items, some new Silver bolts and washers for the wings and also got a aluminium Fusebox cover. Also been bugging me that the Oil breather filter and pipe was red when everything else is Blue in the engine bay so ordered some new silicone hose and filter. Before - and with the new Blue bits, my OCD can rest a bit now lol Next want to paint the Rocker cover Black with Blue Lettering so it goes with the rest of the Bay. Ordered a couple bits from mx5dan, a new Alloy Radiator which will hopefully improve the cooling now its supercharged, and a Alloy screenwash bottle so I can relocate it to the scuttle panel so its not right next to the supercharger. Also got some new Silicone Radiator hoses in Blue from Stoney Racing, just got to find time to fit it all Finally got round to getting the Rad and washer bottle fitted, decided to get the MX5 Restorer to fit it all as don't really have the room to get the car in the air to change the rad and hoses. Glad I did as Garath had to move the intercooler pipe work about and fit a slimline fan to get it all fitting in the space. Rad all fitted and with new Blue silicone pipes - Washer bottle fitted too, no longer right next to the supercharger in the heat - And a pick of how the bay looks now Have had an aircon delete pipe for a while now so finally decided to get it fitted today as rest of the Aircon has been taken out already so just the evaporator from behind the glovebox to take out. Old Evaporator and new delete pipe - Nearly 4Kg saved, new pipe now fitted

Thats the last 3 years covered and now upto date, next job is to fix some rust on the windscreen surround which has caused the screen to crack as well so need to get that sorted. Next mod will probably be some spacers so the wheels fill the arches more

Nice thread, I like the direction you've gone with this.
Keeping the MX5 in the spirit of it's purpose and improving it with modern / more purposeful technologies.
Also I didn't realise MX5s with pop-up lights went as late as R reg. Was that the last year?

Wanted the car to look pretty standard, which I think it does apart from the rollbar, and give it some extra performance to make it how it should've come like
Think officially the last Mk1's were made in 1997 but mine was registered in 98 so is an R Reg.

I do like the approach you've taken with this also and its always nice to see a car getting some good use I must get to the Stelvio Pass at some point! On the leather door pulls, did you buy those or make them? they're giving me an idea for the MG..
