I normally have 4 day weekends so having spent the last 2 days stripping the 1100 down... four doors completely stripped clean as they are a bit rusty... then the boot and anything else that isn't welded on at the back came off. I shall be spending tomorrow spoiling my niece but hopefully will get some more part removal done on Sunday

Why oh why are weekends so short? I'll be laying a parquet floor, rending some garden walls, visiting a friend who's retiring, oh, and rebuilding the pedal box for the Westfield so I can bleed the brakes and get an MOT!
Also, making a welding bench with my neighbour and laying some concrete for another neighbour......anyone got a spare TARDIS?

Probably this weekend will be spent making a shortened distributor from a myriad of parts, started tonight with Lucas, Bosch, Autolite, and Denso parts, going to be interesting getting a reliable animal from this lot, THEN, if that's sorted, I will be converting my engine stand to Dual Purpose, a lightweight low lift engine crane and still double as an engine stand as well,

In about 2 hours I'm saddling up the P38 and heading to Las Piñas to meet a Filipino called Fritz. How likely it that?
He says he has "a selection of used Land Rover (Discovery) and Range Rover Parts (P38 and L322)... We have body panels, interior trim, lights, sensors, transfer case, etc.. Just call or message us to see if we have what you need on-stock" and if he's correct, I'm going to spend a bleedin' fortune!
Because you just can't have enough stock.
And it's a good excuse not to get on my back and fit the exhaust!

In about 2 hours I'm saddling up the P38 and heading to Las Piñas to meet a Filipino called Fritz. Was a little worried where this was going....... Then it was all ok..... And it's a good excuse not to get on my back and fit the exhaust! Oh nooooes....

Oh nooooes.... Oh yes! Just got back. Well worth the trip. The guy's a Range Rover nut and has the mintest workshop I've seen since I've been here. His mechanic has worked on Land Rovers since the early eighties. Got loads of parts and I've contacted him to resurrect the air suspension. So yes, it will cost a fortune but a good find and well worth the trip. Now, must be time for a celebratory cold beer.

Preventative timing chain change on the TR7 this weekend. I have just had the head rebuilt and as I don`t know this engines history, better safe than sorry. That`s assuming I can find a 38mm socket for the crank pulley.

This morning I am prepping Grotbags engine bay for paint, then pulling 2 broken alarms worth of sensors and curse word out of the W124 coupe I've just acquired. Then, tomorrow - hangover dependant - I'm taking Fiesta No. 2 to the Squires café meet.

well, after last weekend, which went something like this.... ^That^ was my weekend last weekend too, although mixed with some of this for me, which added to the 'joy' of the 450mile trip: Saw you guys on the m4 aswell. Land rover looked mad against the normal traffic. I was in the blue mk2 gti.

I'm having a quick forum browse while having my breakfast. This is important to build up my motivation to go out and work on the Shonky Rocket... I STILL need to replace the brake lines then it will be nearly ready to MOT! Hopefully I'll have it ready in time to drag it to The Gathering in a few week's, oh damit, I well missed that target. -Steve-

This week-end I'll hopefully be freeing off this bad boy Then try and see what I can do as a stopgap for the steering column issue, visit a local-ish fellow Maser owner, and take friends for a ride to convince them not to buy modern stuff. Should be fun

I was a marshal today at a Vintage navigation rally, which meant I got to drive fast around backroads in the M535 to set up the checkpoints ahead of them. then I went to look at another car for sale. Now I'm shattered. Tomorrow is church and sleep. And lots of tea.

My weekend started on Friday 12 noon at NERC (North East Restoration Club) with sorting the CVT out on this... The plan was to remove the non working CVT from the panda, fix it with some spare CVT bits, and put it all together. Well that WAS the plan, but after the faf of taking the CVT out and not being sure the replacement bits were any better, we decided to go back to my garage and collect all the manual panda bits that KFW liberated from a scrapyard panda a couple of years ago (thanks again Kev). Most of the manual conversion has been done in 8 hours, and it only needs things like engine mounts and exhaust brackets now

I went to the herald classic car show in Alton Hampshire. Had a great day. Allsorts of vintage cars and classic cars, I didn't get to many pictures as I was too busy helping a guy I met sort out his air intake pipe on his car lol
