It is coming to the end of show season, but there are a few still to come, anyone going to anything? Or are we all starting to get stuck in to projects again now? For me my car related activity is picking up a new camera on Saturday (trust me, it is car related!), so may go and do a few shots with that to get used to it (full frame baby!). I have also got a list as long as your arm for things I want to do on here, from threads, to helpful pages to some design tidy up and stats checking. The lion's share of my time car wise will be editing the RR Gathering video, which was half done, but then I took a bit of a left turn with it, scraped it and started again! So what car related stuff you up to*? *yes I know my stuff is tenuous, but my car is still being worked on elsewhere :/

All I have to look forward to is lots and lots of driving. We're going to Ireland for a week, but there's a couple of errands to run first, so it's Forest Gate - Maidstone - Whitstable - Holyhead, then Dublin - Cavan. So it's about six hundred miles. I'm strangely looking forward to it, it'll be the longest run I've done in the Granada, and I'll be trying to see if I can beat 33mpg!

Japfest in Mondello this weekend, I might head up on Sunday, assuming Saturday night doesn't kick the curse word out of me… Facebook has just reminded me there's a Supercar Sunday Charity thing in Limerick too, so I may cave in and go to that instead.

well, after last weekend, which went something like this..... friday morning- saturday morning spent in a field in the rain dragging an engine out of a van. saturday afternoon- into the evening- then into the night. finally gave up 2am-ish sunday morning. all back togehter but wouldnt start. a quick tow start sunday morning saw to that- and we were at players a bit over an hour away by dinnertime. on a fresh engine that was still in a van in a field 24hrs previously so this weekend, i think I'm going to have a weekend off!!

well, after last weekend, which went something like this.... ^That^ was my weekend last weekend too, although mixed with some of this for me, which added to the 'joy' of the 450mile trip: Massive, MASSIVE thanks to all those that offered to come and help. And the help arrived in the shape of RR moderator and all round guy of awesome, rmad who drove all the way from Kent with some jump leads to get me running again (dead alternator). RR at it's very finest! Thanks Dude. So this weekend, like Dez, I should also be having a weekend off, but it's the 5th anniversary of Area 52, so instead, there's a weekend of absolute mayhem, welding, car tinkering and fun ahead. Five whole years of play weekends and this one is going to be a stormer! Including some serious quality time put into the new A52 'group build' car. Hopefully this will also see the return to the A52 thread being updated and kept alive more often? No time to rest after that because it's off to Paris first thing after the weekend to photograph some cars around the famous cities landmarks, home on Thursday just in time for a day of recovery ready for another manic weekend.... Long live the weekends.

]That wasn't on the A12 was it?? I spotted you guys there but didn't have time to pull over. Yep, we'd made it fine all the way from Bristol but Dave pulled into the layby because the Merc was running a bit pump. I jumped out to see if everything was OK and when I went to start the LR again, it wouldn't! A jump start (thanks again to Rmad) and it ran perfectly, but every time the engine was turned off, it wouldn't start again. I had to spend the rest of the weekend with borrowed jump leads each time I needed to move or drive the car. Hopefully a new alternator will be on there very soon....

My weekend shall consist of getting back to grips with working on the MGB, first thing being a new battery to get it to be able to start under its own power again! If I'm feeling really productive I should put the new starter motor on the Jag as its getting quite embarassing to have a loud crunch every time I start it... The Jag also needs new rear tyres fitting, a CD changer fitting, headlight washers fixing, electric window fixing, door open microswitch fixing and some undertrays fitting I wouldn't hold my breath that many/any of them get done though

I'm going to the MX5 owners Club Rally at Gaydon on Sunday, to get some inspiration for my MX5 (and another look around the museum).
And this afternoon off for my first longish drive in it, to look at horseboxes for SWMBO :-(

The irregular and not especially famous FDUK southern meet * . Tends to have a fairly random turnout due to the intrinsic problems of getting more than one rotary in the same place and actually functioning at the same time. If all works out it looks a bit like this * depending on whether I can get my turbo and brace re-assembled in time. Becos rotary

I'll be mostly working as usual afternoon off on sunday where I'll be washing and polishing the 924 and trying to sort the interior. Day off on monday, so hope to try and solve the hard start issues

Hmmmmmm, Saturday involves working for the morning but a selection of stragglers will no doubt arrive to fix broken Skodas and help with things before I get stuck in to some sort of afternoon project.
Might be getting a horse.
Sunday, I hope to sleep. Car related things are afoot though so I'll get pictures if it's fun.

Having just got the starter motor in the capri refurbed, barring a touch up on the underseal I'm ready for another autumn/winter og vintage motoring. Although maybe I should track down the oil leak on the ambulance...

I was meant to be picking up an new project to try make some money on (credit card need repaying having got my Capri to RRG!), but sadly it's no longer for sale...... Sywell looks like a decent alternative though! - thanks for the tip off
