Desperately need xr2i load sensing valves
My xr2i has recently failed the dreaded mot as the above load sensing valves for the brakes are leaking. Ford do t sell them and there are no patent parts can anyone help the part numbers are below. These parts sit on the rear beam and apparently allow more braking pressure to the rear if there's more weight.

The be fix one is the right type but they only have one I'm starting to contemplate 2nd hand units. I think due to the 23 year old brake fluid being flushed out recently and new put in it's dislodged a load of gunk holding it together ?

Just buy two for the same side and strip out the cylinder and seals to repair your original opposing side

open the bonnet of any non-ABS Rover 25/45 (or similar model of Rover) and they've got a nice compact brake pressure regulator. Same part was fitted to drum and disk models, with varying piston sizes. Two pipes in, two straight out (for the fronts) and two for the rears. Really simple to fit, and even come with a handy mounting bracket

I had the same problem with my mk4 escort van the valve is no longer available the parts guy at ford said to use the valves they fit in line on the mk4 fiesta that screw into the brake master cylinder they have a male thread one end and a female the other end on my escort van I was able to just remove the leaking compensator and in place fit the valves same size threads brakes worked fine without locking up and past 3 mots with them fitted if you want I can try to find the part number of them if I can find my old invoice for them hope this helps.

I hardly ever work on brakes for fear of the obvious. He reckons it'll fit but new brake lines will have to be run to the rear of the car does this sound right ? He's also suggested using a brake bias valve adjuster as a solution

The valves are removed by unscrewing them by using a large spanner on the end of the valves there are flats for spanner to fit on at the male end if that makes sense the parts guy at for said the male end must connect to the master cylinder I fitted my ones above the rear axle and they worked fine a mate fitted a pair to his mk5 a escort but the union sizes were wrong so we made a some adapter pipes up to convert the pipe sizes they did the job if you don't have a pipe flareing tool then visit a local garage should be able to make you some adapter pipes to connect to the valves if the union sizes are wrong saves running new pipes under the car.
You could use a bias valve to adjust down the rear brake effort but you might find that it won't adjust down enough I had one on a classic mini and even fully closed on heavy breaking would still lock the rear wheels the ford valves don't seem to suffer the same issue if you need anymore advice just ask I will try to help if I can.
