Hi all, saw this advertised on here and within 24 hours I had it on the back of my dad's flatbed and on my driveway :-) (as far as I know...) It's a 1958 Ford Zephyr Zodiac 'highline) fitted with a 2.6 straight 6 and a 3 speed manual. Clock says 47,000, how much of that is true I don't know... Luckily I've found a previous owner on Facebook and managed to steal these pics from his wall, can't wait to hear back off him!! The engine purrs like a kitten and has plenty of 'roar' but it needs some attention (leaks, seals and generally putting back together properly) I HAD been on a desperate search for a Volvo Amazon estate for quite some time now but I've either had no money at the time or it's been sold before I got there but as soon as I saw this I just had to have it There's a lot there, there's also a fair bit missing... Fingers crossed I'll have it on the road as a useable car before the end of they year!! Pedro

Wonderful. I wish I was so well preserved! Are those side "gills" standard?
Looks much nicer without the external sun-visor.

Love the two tone, though 'Buick' portholes & Plymouth etching on rear 'screen might be pushing it. Hope previous repairs aren't bad.

To be honest the car is pretty much a wreck... The interior (minus the dash, steering wheel, clocks) is a total write off... Back seats aren't even from this model car! All previous welding is solid but messy, I'm guessing something's gone wrong as there isn't physically enough room for the doors... The lights don't work, everything to do with electrics needs putting back together properly, as does anything to do with water, heating and engine coolant... Front bumper has been dented in along with the plate and a small dent behind that... Doors don't really shut properly... Windows don't really work... Wipers need attention/reassembling... Body is straight and original but is rough as hell, not a single panel that doesn't need some kind of welding... Clutch is quite high but doesn't slip... One of the brakes are stuck on, will have a look soon... The original wheels are pretty naff and even if they were freshly refurbed I'd have to trade them in for something a little more slot-mag-ish! !!!Ze Good Bits!!! It's gorgeous The engine is great and sounds the Dogs Bawlocks! 47,000 on the clock (not bad in 56 years) The roof is straight Bonnet is straight Gearbox feels good Last but certainly not least... The GF loves it!! Quite clearly I've got a large task ahead of me, quite scary considering I'm not familiar with welding or sheet metal working... If anybody can point me in the direction of specialists, breakers, dealers etc that's be great! Can't wait to get this baby on the road!!

Not what you'd call an update really but here's the most recent couple of pics... My son on the bonnet and I managed to capture the moment my g/f converted to classics ;-)

Started doing a bit of deeper investigation today and thankfully I was pleasantly surprised to find there was more surface rust than rot! Both rear tubs are fine and solid through to the arch lips. Front passenger tub is also all good, just the front drivers side to check now :-) It's got new shoes all round (yes, ALL round, front drums...) The passenger front was sticking but after a bit of fiddling, adjusting and dremeling it spins freely now. I also assembled a full whitewall, trim and hub cap to see how they look and they're not bad but still not to my taste so a chunky set of J 18's will be getting involved ;-)

My first car was a Consul mk2 - bought when I was 14 for £35....
Yours has done well to survive. Repro interior door trims are available from Newton Commercial IIRC.
