We have our milk delivered, but he has to hide the milk in the bushes to stop it getting nicked. The kiddies think it's great to try to find where he's hiden it.
The telly in our bedroom only has 3 channels, BBC 2 and Five are too snowy to watch and we lose the others when a train goes past.

...use a laundrette?
Never used one but I have been in many fine establishments whilst friends wash their gruds.
...record to audio cassette tapes?
Not any more but I intend to transfer some of my old tapes to digital.
...have a black & white TV licence?
No but I have a perfectly good early 80's B&W portable, still in use.
...live in a flat rather than an appartment?
Never lived in a flat and yes I call them flats too, not a luxury apartments !
...live in a maisonette rather than a split level appartment?
Never lived in one and I've never even heard of a 'split level apartment' !
...use public payphones?
Still do from time to time but they arent cheap are they !
...have their milk delivered by a milkman ?
Not any more, though the thought has crossed my mind.
...have only the 5 analogue TV channels?
Yes, though its more like 4 and a 'snowy image' where C5 should be.
...record music to CD in audio format? (how passe that seems now in the iPod age)
Still do, though the MP3 player may be used in-car soon for convenience.

Well, I'm right in the middle of London, and we still live in a flat
Still see a milk float doing the rounds, but we don't use him
And there's still a launderette round the corner
Only just got a digibox too
Just thought of another one...
"Never owned a mobile phone?"
Those things must have close on 99% coverage of the population now...

oo I feel quite oldbeforemytime not only do I have a milkman deliver my milk, though with a lack of hot daughter, but I have used payphones recently, listen to cassettes AND vinyl, used to use laundrette for 3 years whilst in uni, AND I have my garden no longer as a garden but as an allotment for my veg, plus apple trees to make my own cider. Sadly that is all, being a country boy I never really saw flats, apartments, studios callemwhatyouwill.

:)17 years ago I'd fire up my rear engined Skoda every morning to go to work. I still do the same now, though the Skoda has changed a bit and I have a different job!

You have to fill your head with something... Yes, I have started a car by handle. My old Morris Minor would occasionally throw the starter motror end plate.

Yes, I have started a car by handle. My old Morris Minor would occasionally throw the starter motror end plate. Me too. The battery in the Sun-Tor was a bit duff when I got it and it took me six months of occasional hand starting before I got round to buying a new one Handles are bloody handy for setting points/tappet clearances

I started my V8 Tatra with the handle, it was quite easy because the compression was low and with 8 cylinders it fires quite smoothly. When I started my Renault 8 it was much harsher, but it's still a good bit of ceremony, especially when you stall at the lights A friend has a Citroen GSA that came with a starting handle. If it fails to start on the key, the procedure is that you open the bonnet, take the starting handle and beat the curse word out of the starter motor with the handle. Chances are it'll then fire on the key
