Hi folks, I found these clearing out my Dad's workshop - he cant remember what they are. he thinks they might be landrover power take off units. No joy in looking for anything that matches this for a Land Rover so I am calling on the skills of the combined Retro Rides brain to figure this out! I know my dad had old Merc vans (T2s) and a uni mog at one point but still drawing a blank, even with the tag number! There is a lever, a gear that protrudes from the flange face clearly to engage with something and an output shaft at 90 degrees to the flange face, so clearly they are a power take-off (I know the tag says that but this is the second one, the first one has no tag and I looked at for ages before realising the second one does have a tag like numpty!) Any ideas folks: Any help would be appreciated....

That's military surplus stock.
So, it;ll be off a vehicle that they used back in the 60's/70's or maybe earlier looking at the packaging and label.
That brown wax is amazing stuff. It was designed to store the parts without water ingress for 50 years!
The best way of removing I've found is to soak in a bath of petrol.
Other than that, I can't help

One of it's uses was to store WWI surplus weapons such as rifles and during WWII they boiled them to remove the Cosmoline as it has set so hard.

I knew it went back a bit, but didn't realise it was that far!
We have a lot of ex-MOD engine spares wrapped in it from around the 40's-60's. Removing it from pistons rings can be a little time consuming! lol

I love the breadth of knowledge on here!! =D at for the cleaning info too - next to try and figure out what Bedford they might have been used on - something like a 4 tonner! Is the goddess a Bedford based or something like an Alvis?
