this is the thread where I stand up, again, and thank EVERYONE involved in the tat auction on the saturday evening
thanks to everyone who donated tat, wacky mick for the very shiny exhaust, james (bjorn) for the autosport show tickets, nomad pete for the HUGE box of tat, phil 2002gimp for the trike, pauldaf for the triumph stuff, davenger for the haynes and the spoilers and everyone else who chucked stuff in
thanks to all who bid, won, and paid for the wibblepoo they bought - some of the bids were unbelievable!
thanks to dez and bruce for book-keeping all the bids and collecting the cash, al for being my glamorous assistant again
we raised a huge wedge of cash, £1253 is what I have here, but there may be a bit more to come
few things - if you bid, and didn't pay for your items can you get in touch, I think bruce or dez has the list, so they can let me know if we have any more money to come in?
location - I screwed up slightly here, by using the campsite rather than the venue, sorry david - we'll work on a possible different site for it next year, but it will DEFINATELY be happening again, so get saving your tat and pennies!
and as a total aside, thanks very much to the chap (you know who you are) who decided to help himself to the HID's out of my newly bought and paid for mx-5 headlamps (luckily you were seen and told - thanks rich) - and also, I don't know if you, or someone else chanced upon a pair of wheel adaptors that were near my lamps, but I'd quite like them back too - they were near the leather seats and mx5 hardtop in the campsite - I fully understand skip diving for tat, but I think it was pretty obvious that those parts weren't abandoned / dumped
- only thing left is to divvy up the wedge, so we've pretty much decided to split it between a large chunk to a cancer charity in memory of donttellhimpike john, chevazon, and I'm sure there have been a few other forum members taken from us by cancer, and a number of smaller charities
- and that's where you guys come in, I'd like suggestions, with good reasons, of charities that might well benefit from 100-150-200 quid being sent their way
stick suggestions on here as a reply, and I'll get the ball rolling
CHEERS TO ALL - kfw
