hi folks, its declan here, new irish member. always been into my old/retro stuff and generally cant resist messing with and modding them!! got the same problem as most in that i have way too much stuff, half of it unfinished projects that ill never get time to complete but there goes the disease i suppouse, lol!!
ill start with my daily driver, finished bout a year now, mk2 cavalier lx saloon reshelled into a new factory shell i came across, running a mk3 cav 1.7 izuzu td motor, 5 stud conversion, saab brakes and hubs, power steering etc. very economical runabout.
and heres my mk2 escort van i built a couple of years back with another izuzu td conversion, (i love these engines!!) difficult rwd conversion but well worth it for the power, economy and reliability. ive it dropped on banded steels, fitted saph cossie leather recaros and corsa power steering and a few other bits for comfort. i clocked up 30,000 miles on this one and have had fun developing it. ended up narrowing a 2.8 capri axle for it as the diesel lump needed the tall 3.09 ratio, drives mint now.
heres another izuzu conversion i did for a mate into his gorgeous early mk1 transit flat front panel van, really enjoyed doing this transplant. van just has a few subtle mods includind a slight drop and banded steels.
its not all boring oil burners I'm into either, heres my xe powered mk1 escort road car finished a few years now.
as you can see i like my old fords just a bit, and like my old transits.
heres a couple of teasers of one of my recent "ambitious" projects, lol!!
will post more pics up of my madness when i get chance!!
