bought this a month ago buy only just got it to a stage I can drive it , 1992 sierra td , not a bad car , so far ive fitted an escort td engine due to the poorly running sierra lump being terminal inside as pics show , replaced gaskets and spent hours messing with it , ive fitted citroen steels 'wider offset' they still need painting, lowered it although I'm waiting on brand new springs to arrive, fitted a boost gauge, turned up the pump a bit, lost rear silencer although I'm going to take them all out like I did on my mk4 escort td , I'm still going too...... fit mudflaps fit new springs tidy body a bit loose silencers and cat, replace boost compensater (leaking) few other bits when I remember what they are lol , when I got it... valve/piston damage and cracked head.... engine change time , had to swap a lot a bits to get the escort block in... proof I do work sometimes lol. how it stands at the moment.... hoping to cruise it to ford fair in a couple a weeks,.

That is very nice...
Keep an eye on Sierra's as the way Ford prices are going these are sure to pick up (even more!) some time very soon...
I like the look of this project and I cannot wait to see more...

Like that a lot, was it on ebay for sale with some kind of starting issue??? the car looks really familiar. Not many red TD hatches running a saff bonnet and grill.

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

that old cylinder head looks a bit like old landrover 2.25 idi engines, from memory the bit in your pic is called a hot spot and are replacable. they also used to crack across on the turbo versions.

Just thought I'd jump on this thread. I bought the sierra and have been playing around with it since. Fitted XR4x4 spoiler and painted it black. Fitted GLS black bumpers, decatted/straight through exhaust, turned the pump up more and turned the boost up to 20 psi, fitted a k & n, fitted capri 7j pepperpots, removed excess wiring and tidied a lot of Bodged wiring up, fitted custom turbo diesel stickers and Garrett turbo stickers, replaced throttle shaft seals on the pump, fitted a tow bar and GLS dash for extra speakers built in to it. Plans now are fit my evo 6 intercooler and hardpipes, make the exhaust side exit, fit front fogs, lower the back a touch more, sort out all the curse word welding it's had done, underseal it, uprate the speakers etc Also started buying up sierra td specific spares just incase ;-) Oh and also refitted the black front grille
