I have heard through a number of sources that items listed on eBay.co.uk now no longer appear on eBay.com and some other "international" sites. If you want to list so that you can sell via people on these sites you have to pay an extra listing fee!
WTF?
Is this correct?
I have been using eBay nearly 10 years and always dismissed people gripes as just moans or sour grapes or them being dumbasses, until about the last year or 18 months they really do seem to be out to screw over people trying to sell on there.
Sorry its OT but eBay is a big part of our scene and being able to get good coin for old tat off Americans, Aussies and Japs has funded many a project for me over the years.

Does seem a bit like they're wringing as much cash out of it as they can... it was always part and parcel that when you search for VW bits you get a dozen german sellers, and they were often cheaper especially for the rarer items. I can imagine ebay.de sellers being just as cross at this new charge, especially the ones selling BMW/VW/Merc/Audi parts to us brits!

I don't know if it affects .de and .fr etc as that would probably be counter to the Treaty of Rome (1957) which enshrines the right to the freedom of trade within the European Community.
I have found nothing on this but my "reading the FAQ" skillzorz are notably poor

don't know if its true what you are saying about another charge to sell to internatinal but it would not suprise me it is now all about tham making money out of the sellers it would not suprise me if you have to pay for subscription soon i used to use my mates account years ago (i didnt have a pc & wasnt interested in them) but have had my own now for 2yrs mainly to price check bits ;D but i would say in the last 12-18 months its gone daft i think there has been a boom in users so they have seen how to make more money out of s*** just look at some of the stuff on there now & the prices plus they are not getting rid of the wasters on there ( non payers, wont sell cause they think it was worth more ) so i try to avoid it as much as i can & use the car forums but some of them are going that way aswell ( not here ;D) subscribe & my pet hate is offers then you put one in & get told no i want more than that WELL PUT A PRICE IN THEN !!!!!

Hasn't it always been the case that your listings only go on .co.uk? I've sold to lots of international buyers but I've always assumed that they've found my auction by searching "international". Plus, if I search for stuff I pretty much always get only UK sellers, if I want stuff from abroad, I search ebay.com or .de, or tick the international box when I'm searching. Doesn't seem like anything's changed to me... or am I missing something?

you can see the stuff in the "also available from international sellers" bit at the bottom of the search list, well, apparently you have to pay extra to go in that list now. So if Mr Yankee is on eBay and searches for MG Midget emblem and you only listed in the UK site your auction won't appear in his "also available from international sellers" bit. ie you will get less bids.
Or so I have been told by a few people in the last week or two.
