I am thinking that your might just be a little more potent these days Lee my man reckon I know just where you took those too, I can almost smell those chips you local to there then? I'm just down the road. It's in Halifax around the back of my mates garage, Bell Hall. Don't think there are any chippies there though dude? Only the nicest chippy in these parts. I'm guessing it would have been there at the time of the photo anyways. Its gone now - its at the top of the road behind the cars, on the bend. Its a PC engineers now. I used to live on the road above yer pic Also my gran lives just below your pic, opposite the sweety shop at the bottom.

I know where it is now, I have pics and video's from on there too! don't remember the numbered garages. there was a chippy right next to bell hall garage on that cobbled road (well round the corner)!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

When you say your mates garage, do you mean Bell Hall garage as in the MOT place or your mates garage as in those garages round the back that you're parked by?
Used to be a nice old V8 Vuaxhall at Bell Hall garage. Owner has a nice Capri I gather, too. And the young lad has a nice Astra.

Ah right, yes there did used to be a chippy there, I thought you were talking about now a days.... Yeah the lad that works there with the Astra (just sold it if you are on about the Black one), Dene, he is taking over that garage from the current owner. Dene is a top bloke, one of the best mechanics I have seen working as well. I am up there most days tinkering with stuff as I am currently freelance Now the nice old V8 Vauxhall, if you are talking lately then that would have been mine, if we are going back a bit then that would be another Cresta that Dene put a V8 in The photo was only taken about 7 months ago, but it makes it look like it was a while ago with the backdrop and the actual cars that are the subject I suppose.

T'was a black Cresta with a rover 3.5 and a holley carb I think but I'm not sure at all its a while back now, when I had my Capri in there for an MOT. Its going back a coupla years.
There were 3 people at that garage, from what I rememebr (I've not had any car in there since my Capri) there was the guy that owned it, who I think said he had a 2.1 Capri, and another guy in his 30's or something, who I thought owned the cresta, then a young lad, younger than me, must be in early/mid twenties? Who I thought had the black astra.
but tbh I don't know any of them, thats just what I picked up from chatting to them when I've had my cars in.
Are they good then? they were good with my capri when it was in. What are they like with 80's J turbo's? I need to find somewhere round here for when things inevitably go wrong with her ;D

The guy in his 30's was Paul, he's gone to Shay Motors now as their MOT tester. Selwyn who has owned the garage for years and years is now ready to back out and let Dene take the reigns so to speak. Dene is one of those kind of Mechanics that nothing is too much bother, and because of the day to day servicing that needs doing if anything interesting like your whip comes in he's all over it. He helped me out no end in the past and has even at one point both let us use his garage and stayed to help out when we suprised our friend and did a 'Overhauling' on his VW Caddy - Dene didn't even know him and he helped out anyways because it was an interesting thing to do. It's nice to know that there are guys out there like that IMHO. Yeah dude I still have the Bay, Daisy, she'll never be going anywhere - more like a family member than a motor to be honest mate

Nah. Well, I had 2 but I only took one there, it was a standard 2.0 but with matt black front end and de-bumpered. Think I had one MOT with them, must be coming up to 3 years ago! and had it in for a new caliper and discs too. Took my mini in there a few times as well, 1275 white mini, all stickered up, much modified. That was when I just lived round the corner from their garage, and back when I had long hair I've spoken to him a few times but tbh I doubt he'd remember me from all the other customers. Haha, I remember I took my metallic brown datsun 280zx into them for an MOT but it was so rusty they said there was no point even getting started. It was too far gone to save. Think thats about the time he got the astra. Aye, Selwyn, I remember now. Dene sounds cool, I'll deffo be taking my new ride in to them for MOT when it's due, and any work in the meantime. You've sold it to me! ;D It is good to know people like that are around.

nice. Can't believe I've not seen it around. I'll keep an eye So if you see a Starion popping its headlights up and down at you, its not cos you have an axe murderer in the back Lol, I can't believe it, I saw you yesterday on my way home but I wasn't in my car. I'm assuming theres only one camper like that in Halifax you were at the lights below the Alan Fold on Burnley Road, waiting at the lights before you go on to the big lights at the junction. I was staring at the camper but then you looked at me like 'who are you and why are you staring at my damn camper' I was walking home, over the other side of the road. I did contemplate shouting something memorable then posting on here and saying it was me, but then you'd think I was cuckoo anyways, all I wanted to say was it looks sweet, though I did only see the drag strip side looking' good, I'll keep my eye out in future. And next time I might shout something ;D
