Interesting, I'm in the process of reading Loewy's biography at the moment. (Written before this car was produced)

Is that a... perspex roof spoiler!? Might be glass but still looks like a front windscreen visor off a Minor or A35 to me Paul H

I like that, many of his specials not faring so well. Xk150, Bmw 507 & '59 Cadillac coming to mind. Shorter tail surprisingly subtle. No doubt wheel arches are decidedly egg shaped as something he favoured but would require side view to show.

This is certainly something very unique indeed...!!!
It works well in some areas and not so well in others! On the whole though that has clearly taken some skill to craft to hats off all day...!!!
Different doesn't always work but it sure does make things interesting...

Really don't like the front end, lights and grill are a no no. The rest is doing it for me.

I feel like he's answered a question no one was asking. The E-Type has such a definitive shape, it's hard to improve on it. The net result is less than the sum of ts parts, and without its historical provenance, I reckon it would have been scrapped years ago.

Holy cr*p I thought it was a kit car or mx5 custom job the front looks like a big 70s Vauxhall or a Bristol couldn't believe it when I read it actually is or was an e type at least it was done ages ago when there was loads to play with, I suppose its like all the couch built one off's if the builder turns out to be a famous designer someone will pay a small fortune for it regardless to what the end result looks like. I'm not saying its wrong or putting it down its definitely a piece of history just the bits I like seem to be the bits that are original e type except for the glass spoiler I like that.

At the time when this was modified and there were many E-types on the road, it maybe looked awesome just for being different? But nowadays, I think "If it ain't broke don't fix it" It's very much of it's time.

But nowadays, I think "If it ain't broke don't fix it" It's very much of it's time. In 1976 a neighbour offered me his scruffy early coupe for £500 - I turned him down as was happy with my 1964 Sunbeam Rapier that cost me £50 ! Paul H

Now I'm a big fan of Raymond Lowey's work. The '53 Studebaker Starliner, and 63 Avanti were both both true works of art. I'm also not a massive lover of the E Type in it's standard form, so in theory the combination of Lowey casting his wand over the Jag could have been perfect. Unfortunately the end product doesn't do anything for me. The customized bits don't really flow with the original lines and the bit I really don't like about the E Type- the upright windscreen is still there, unmodified.
Sorry, a wasted opportunity in my opinion.

It's rather like a weak cover version of a classic hit record - can you improve upon the original? Sadly not, then leave it alone.
