"RED VICTOR 1 on eBay"Either this fella is stupid and thinks he has got RV1 in some earlier incarnation, or he's out to turn someone over.

I don't know what RV1 is so you've lost me anyway. But what's strange is if you click on his 9 feedback it says he has 0 feedback. Mysterious!

Hmmm just saw this one on ebay this morning and thought it was odd - didn't know Red Victor one had been sold, and would be well suss about buying it as a non-runner.

9 feedback, over 12 months ago - so doesnt show up he has three cars for sale - and on one listing says he will add photos on monday If you click on feedback now it takes you straight to feedback as a seller and he has none. All his feedback is left as a buyer. I recognise the seller as he bought an opel monza I had been looking at a while ago. He`s also bought a few V8 and general american bits so I am guessing he`s selling a genuine car but as to what it is no idea

Something shady there. But - different spec to the current RV1 so possibly just a marketing thing, however badly pulled off.

That is Red Victor 1 by the sounds of it, Andy Frosts first car. The one he has at the minute is Red Victor 2

I thought 1 and 2 were the same car but renamed 2 when twin turbos fitted but I could be mistaken

Right, Andy's original car was based on an old VX4/90 which he'd owned since the 80s IIRC. He started with a hopped up slant 4, then a Rover V8 and then it finally ened up back halved and tubbed with a standard deck big block Chevy in it and a 5 speed manual, and it ran 9.7 or so and won CC/SE in 1997. IIRC in 1998 the motor blew and Andy pulled the car part season to rebuild and upgrade but decided att hat time he was as far along what he could do with a stock floor unibody car as he could achieve as the car was flexing pretty bad. So he acquired another car, this oen was a Victor 2000 which was rotten as a pair and came from Glasgow IIRC. I seem to recall it was an Indigo Blue 2000SL Auto.
He sold the original Red Victor 1 as a rollling shell, I trhink it went up to a guy called Davie Toole in Scotland. From this point its referred to as "the old car" or "the Scotts Pine car" as thats who sponsored it back in the day. I had heard it had been painted white. Which would fit, as Davie Toole used to run a Rover powered Victor called "White Lightning" back in the mid 90s.
Andy gutted the new Victor, built a full tube frame for it and it came out with a tall deck / aftermarket big block Chevy, Poweglide, lots of nitrous and ran 8s. This car is called either "Red Victor" or "Red Victor 2" or "Frosty's ride"
Then the same car was overhauled, twin turbos went in and now its a 7 second street monster.
I don't have any photos handy of the Scotts Pine car with the number plate visible, but I don't think he kept the same plate on the new car as a mate of mine refers to the two cars by their three reg latters (the new Victor being "PTB")
I have tried to get the money to buy the Scotts Pine car several times and always miss out. Last I saw it it was running race only with a 396 and TH400 in it.

Right enough Alistair, the Victor on ebay would seem to be the old car. I know Davie Toole, and although I haven't been in touch with him for a long time now, I had known that he had bought the car and repainted it white. Davie was into old Vauxhalls and always had a few of them lying around. He had a Victor estate and a Ventora as well in the early ninties. Don't know who the guy selling on ebay is though, doesn't sound like he's all that clued up TBH?

Davie was a good lad IMO. If you run across him tell him Alistair from the VX490 club says "Hi", I've not seen him in maybe 10 years now though! (and am no longer anything to do with the VX490 club either!)
I had heard he had sold the car on.
