with respect, if you hadnt written the words "70s comedy cop show" and i had only directly visited the website i might be struggling to see what the show is actually about. the home page is 2 guys on red sunburst with funk2funky, is it a game show, is it a music quiz, flash driven desktop game? intro page, ok thats eluding to some old school pre technology golden days. there is a red emergency vehicle beacon on a red sunburst, so they are firemen? then it says at bottom DC jack, right so its police.
the videos its not till 24 odd seconds in there's someone opening a safe suggesting some criminal element, the fight scene is so well choreographed it actually looks like an urban dance studio. second teaser a man flashing a badge, ok, so it is a cop show. music is clearly 70s funk, but it still sounds like a cheap daytime gameshow. if you watch sweeney or professionals intro within the first few seconds you know its a cop show. regimental music, official looking logo's, sirens, car chases, bad guys, fights.
on the first teaser you see a man deliberately struggling over a 4 foot fence and another man sprinting down an alley, slowing right down and then carefully edging his nuts into a bollard whilst howling with pain. not my kind of "comedy" unfortunately, maybe is more in the writing? but ok so now we know its a spoofy pastiche of 70s cop shows.
i know its coming across like i'm dissecting it to rubbish it, but my gut feeling if you are making a brand new show you need to really punch people in the face with what its about, what the intentions are. my opinion is worthless in the grand scheme but you have asked for opinions.
things i like about it, its fun, love the cars, seems well produced and edited, as with phoenix i like the premise.
