Compared to the new Golf or something, its stunning, and I`d be thrilled to own and drive it, but compared to original Challenger, it can go eat some trousers. How about an original idea, Chrysler, instead of doing spitting image puppets of all your old gear? My thoughts exactly but we appear to be in a minority of two. Thats a pre-production 2009 Challenger body which has been turned into a replica of a pro stocker from back in the day. Hense the big hood scoop and colour scheme.

not in the minority at all, I'm well against car co's churning out repros of past great models.

i love the new challenger, i think it has very close proportions to the original model, the new mustang however sucks donkeyballs and the front end looks like a truck.

If you want a '70-'74 Challenger, go buy one... IMO...

Armed with a pools win I'd like to seek an original challenger not sure where on the list the new one sits, old tat comes first, I do think they have done well with it though and its one of my fave re hashz! But agree, we/they should be moving forwards really

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Ilike the new Camaro. Its the best looking of those cars because although its got retro styleing elements so you can see where its come from it still looks like a modern car. The probelm with the Mustang is that it looks too plastic because of the modern bumpers and high sided bodywork thing going on, thick pillars, etc. I always think its more of a Mustang II than an orignal Mustang... But they sell like hot cakes, so someone's buying them. Lots of ladies in fact. Mustangs are chick's cars...
But yeah, design should move forward...

Personally I think car design will always reflect the past, as design often does.
Anyway I'm posting to say "shaker hoods ftw" these were far cooler and should be imitated more.

design being influenced by the past is all well and good, design just re-itterating designs of the past - not so good.

Scoops suggest muscle & she's certainly got that!
I would imagine they will release a range of available 'hoods' with & without scoops, similar to Ford with the new Mustang.
It's a 'look' thing. A car like this doesn't need to advertise the fact that it goes like curse word, but does it need it?
Photoshop, someone...

I'm pretty sure that's a computer generated 3D design - but I may be wrong and it's one hell of a photo... Tommy! any more pics of your LT35, i think i know it...

thats what a new car should look like. it seems inexplicably old looking, the lines and the shape etc, but with smaller shutlines and a lot smoother with modern touches like the headlights
