Hi This My 1961 Bug It lowered with a 2" beam currently running GAZ shocks all round. (soon to be on AIR) 195/65/15 rear and 145/65/15 front. Got a 1641cc motor with twin weber 40, big cam, 044 heads, ect with a Rancho box. Was repainted 25 years ago but not rebuilt. Some of the build was fetured in Volksworld back in 2005. when my step-dad purchased it. Has not been used much for a few years but have got a few shows lined up this year.

I like that very much. It's got some nice extra chrome touches to it. The only thing I would change to make it perfect is to band those rear wheels.

Some pics from earlier in the year. on my way home the shock tower broke off. Took the beam off in the garage you can see the missing shock mount. Welded back on. Ready for paint

AIR RIDE Air shocks going on the front with a range rover p38 pump. Got it all plumped, in next weekend will be fitting moded lower arms and air shocks. Will be able to lay the front on the floor at shows and pump up for driving and speed bumps. Fitted brakets to lower arm to move shock mounts back so it will have more leverage, so i can run lower pressure. (still need welding on) Started pluming it in. got a switch and gauge under dash.

Thanks for the replies. Did not get any photos of the air shock install but you get the idea. could set the beam lower on aired out, but if i had a problem i don't want it laying/draging the floor. Tank, pump and air valves under back seat. gauge under dash and switch. Aired up Aired down

Thanks yeah i like the nose down look. Not going to bag the rear at the moment. The main reason i put the front on air is so i can go straight over speed bumps and make in a bit smother ride on country roads. Then i can slam it for motorways and shows.
I had GAZ adjustable shocks all round before and it a very hard ride on country roads now it is much better as it has more shock travel.
