That's a good one. I might post pictures of my old parka and compare the difference the detailing has made.
Very funny.

lol that was good...i can't really see why the bloke is getting so much stick though, on one forum it had people saying he was gay, and uses polish as lube...real childish stuff.
if he wants to do it, it's up to him

Its about busting the bubble of the pompous though isn;t it? And if theres one thing the Brits love is that.
See this "detailing" lark has become the new religeon for a generation of "car enthusaisrts" how can't find the bonnet release catch and wouldn't know what to do with it if they did...
On almopst any car related forum now you'll get the "experts" telling you how you "have to" do it. I posted some pics of the Mazda a while back as I'd given it a nice clean and wax and almsot every place I posted a pic I got some snot nose telling me I should have done this or that or used such and such product for a better / deeper / wetter finish. blah blah blah.
Bout a week back I has soem lad on another forum ask if it was worth t-cutting his ol Fiesta before slapping some Turtlewax on it and I tell youpeople took the pish, told him he had to use Meguiars/Mothers/Ziano etc or he'd "ruin" his paint etc etc etc.
And I never get an answer to my "what about that product test on the Acura forum whish showed that these expensive prodicts were generally no better than the Wal-Mart own brand"....
I must dig out a link to that again...

I don't remember the Astra thread but from what AK says there, these people need some comedy shoehorned into their lives! I feel quite good i'm a polish virgin now

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm in 2 camps about this, on one side its just an astra, brand new, a good wash and wax should suffice, its really a rep mobile in the end, no soul and i wouldnt give it a 2nd look no matter how shiney it is.
then again i can see how he wants to protect his investment, his money, spend it how he wants.
a fool and his money are easily parted.
we wont get started on the royale wax as its been discussed many times, but yeh, £7000 for that pot, gimme colorwax or turtlewax anyday.
the parka pizz take is just too funny though! that cat pic had me in stitches too! XD

That is exceptionally funny. Quality curse word take. I did really like the bit in the astra thread where they polished the headlight lenses though that looked cool.

A mate sent me that parka thing yesterday..... simply one of the funniest things I have seen. I quite literally laughed my spuds right off. I was still laughing at it when I went to bed last night, even though my car had just bust its gear linkage. The accuracy of the p#ss take is just awesome, every time I look at it I find something new to laugh at, like the name of the computer program that he uses to analyse the parka thickness. Wonderful.

Thanks for the link AK. the anal probing was a bit much, but bloody hell why not (surprising myself here) Good on him that Astra looked like an air brushed photo shop by the time they'd done. Who cares what car it it, it looks great, and thats coming from a serial 'tripplewaxer' I can imagine it gets a bit much on these forums though. GF's sis in law is a tad OCD (so hates me and my toolboxes, ratty cars and mucky bikes etc LOLz) but her house is so clean and the spare bed was the comfyiest evAr! Zzzzzz I'f I ever fork out for a propper repaint. i'l be learning a bit more aout cleening, till then, lets rally!
