Drives great, lovely car I have owned three in total. 150,000 miles, these engines go on for 450,000+!
As enthusiasts will know, the weakness in these 525TD's is the fuel pump. The fuel pump has been replaced with a Facet solid state fuel pump which is a much better upgrade (see e34 forums) and also perfect if you wish to run this on veg oil.
Bad bits: Scratches and dents on bodywork from general use but all original paintwork. The previous owner (Brian) only sold it to me as he needed to get a mobility car. This model benefits from not having plastic over the sills so all the bodywork is visible. Check strap is faulty on inside of passenger door but I have a replacement.
Such a comfy car and does well on diesel. Not the fastest car in the world, only about 115bhp but this car is not about power. Quieter than most modern diesels and sounds like a petrol. No nasty smoke or engine problems. Extremely cheap insurance, I insured it for £113 a year on a classic policy as it qualifies as a classic. If your after a modern feeling car, that runs on diesel but still has classic looks this is the perfect car.
