Hi all, Here's the car I went to collect today: I'm fairly ecstatic. It needs a new clutch slave cylinder (probably master also), French registration papers (Italian import but reg stuff never completed), new cambelt because it's 8 years old, some rust repairs and other stuff but it's really sound overall. 65,000km, two owners, very well cared for, always garaged until a few months ago! I'm leaving it at a friend's workshop near Aix-les-Bains which isn't far from where I picked it up, I'll be doing the MOT work myself but he's lending me his two-post lift I paid the seller €1800 for the car and 220€ for the registration papers in his name, once the car is actually his we'll transfer the car over to me for about the same fee again. With the parts I bought and the truck rental, classic car insurance and all, I should be about €3200 in when it's back on the road. Not too bad for such a magnificent car, I'm in love with it already

Yes it's gorgeous. Rare to hear the 222 naming compared to Biturbo. Should toss your earlier inspection pictures into the thread. Very exciting to know you finally have it.

Yes it's a Biturbo! But they changed the name because, errrr let's ignore why. Good idea about the inspection pics, I have some more and even a video of its first start under my ownership this morning

Interesting, my mate has one of these. His had that boot spoiler on it as well, but it was taken off quite soon after he got it.

darrenh > It could also be 222hp, 222kph... No one is really sure, not even Maserati themselves! Thanks for all the kind comments! I don't have many pictures unfortunately, the camera packed yesterday at 9am and I was back home yesterday evening. I still have a few more pics and two videos edit:
