INTERIOR
The driver-orientated ergonomically designed interior in this E34 Touring has firmly upheld BMW’s renown for exemplary build quality. The Bison Leather upholstery trimmed in Silver-Grey (code 0483) is beautifully clean and wear free, with only faint age related creasing to the leather on the driver’s seat. The original velour carpeting has been protected by colour matched tailor made BMW over mats from new and the cloth headlining is spotless and fully intact. The soft surface dashboard and incorporated switchgear are perfect in condition, with all functions operating as intended. Even a working period Motorola International 2700 car phone remains neatly housed in the centre console! The original toolkit correctly housed in the immaculate luggage compartment simply highlights the fastidious ownership and care this brilliant example has enjoyed.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary and time tested light metal six cylinder powerplant warrants little introduction, and the original and unmolested unit in this example performs perfectly with smooth but spirited power delivery, whilst producing the unmistakable BMW straight six soundtrack! With a displacement of 2494cc and producing 192bhp at 5900rpm, a top speed of 131mph and 0-62 time of 10.9 seconds are more than respectable. The wonderfully smooth optional five speed EH automatic transmission with sport, economy and winter modes performs exactly as BMW intended. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 16in light alloy BMW wheels with 15 spoke styling are factory standard on the 525ix model and help to differentiate the car from the more conventional E34 models. Shod in 255/55 ZR16 tyres with plenty of tread remaining, the wheels are remarkably well preserved with only faint scratches to the outer rims on two wheels. The anti-lock braking system with discs all round, internally ventilated to the front installs piece of mind in all conditions.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 8th March 1993 this remarkable example enjoyed royal ownership from new until October 2009! The original owner His Majesty King Hussein of Jordan kept this as one of his UK fleet for just ten months whereupon ownership was passed to HRH Price Feisal Bin Al Hussein who used the vehicle from his London residence. The vehicle remained in his ownership until 2009. The next owner cherished the vehicle as an avid E34 enthusiast, being a member of the BMW Car Club Great Britain. KGF Classic Cars sold the car to the previous keeper in April 2014 who after much enjoyment has decided to sell back to us. The documented low mileage of 76,944 is evidenced by previous MOT certificates as well as previous invoices and service print outs. A full service and brake service was carried out in September 2014 evidenced by an invoice for £718.22. Even an original sales brochure comes with the car! The upkeep and preservation of this incredibly accomplished vehicle is fully evident in the overall condition and the impeccable performance. An enthusiasts delight!
