As I read a magazine, generally I'll skip through the advertising pages to the editorial, so any display advert is gonna have to be big, bold and bright to catch attention Indeed myself and I guess a lot of folk do the same unless they are specifically looking for a service, or goods

Thanks to those that have responded so far, it is very interesting how much youtube is used. I always figured it would start to grow as it works well with our kind of stuff. Will have a look into utilising it a bit more for Gathering I think

I was subscribed to Street Machine Magazine (Australia) from about 2001 until I gave up my subscription a few months ago. My last issue is still in the plastic, I haven't got around to reading it yet. But I check this fine forum several times a day!
Car-related YouTube channels I watch regularly: Mighty Car Mods (awesome channel!) Jay Leno's Garage, as others have mentioned /DRIVE Motor Trend Channel (mainly for RoadKill) Bad Obsession Motorsport (Project Binky) ColinFurze (not many cars, but has the RR spirit) ScottysGarage (Australian channel, mainly featuring burnouts) MPZRACEVIDEO (various European race footage) AutoMotoTV (does mainly manufacturer's press release B-roll, but often has some very interesting behind-the-scenes videos of manufacturing plants, testing, etc.) AutoCar (very occasionally)

Not relevant to the OP being over in Aus but Drive and Roadkill are things I recommend to everyone who will listen, the only thing wrong with Petrolicious is it they are often too short! MotorPunk TrackDriver RACE car and constructor (Aus mag) T&CC/CSC/Practical Classics/"whatever" based on popping into the Newsagents and what features they have I was an early subscriber on PPC, single digits, but some how they didn't want to do OS stuff any more, leaving it to the local distributor, and I fell off I still lament the loss of Cars and car conversions - best enthusiast aimed car mag ever , that PPC is like it watered down 100 times , it hasnt got a patch on it . To be fair the last couple of year off CCC did go off a bit, I have about 150 of them and they became less technical and more bling

Contrary to popular opinion, I do have mechanical sympathy, I always feel sorry for the cars I drive.

I don't really buy magazines anymore, its abit of I can't really afford them and I can get a better spread of features on the internet. That what comes from having such eclectic tastes.
As far as Youtube goes:
/DRIVE network. Not just Chris Harris either... the majority of the programming is top notch. It is just Leo Parente I'm not too sure about. Alex Roy takes some warming too aswell, though its awhile since he featured on there.
MotorTrend Channel (this includes HOTROD and therefore Roadkill)
The Smoking Tyre. Matt Farar's baby, there are some pretty cool podcasts as well as some vidoes.
Autocar, Evo, Car and driver, these are alright, though the videos seem to lack abit of sheen and are occasionally short.
Jay Lenos garage, just because he's ace and his collection is not just impressive, but mind blowing.
Wasabi Cars. This is a channel devoted to car spotting in Japan. Some epic finds.
RegularCars. A mixture of dark comedy and honest reviews of pre-loved cars. I can't get enough of this channel.
Petrolicious, as mentioned.
theAFICIONAUTO. Features on movie and TV cars from around the world.
And finally ONEOWNERCARGUY, as he finds some beauties and there's no harm in looking.

Mags, I have on Sugscription
Custom car, I have been reading it since 72, Hot Rod, that's been read since about 75 and Street Rodder, probably from the late 70s
I have to agree that CCC was the best, very hard core, and I know it was dropped on a whim....The Publishers meeting went something like this---- which mag sells the least, CCC, well close it down, end of subject, I think MAP? publications closed 6 titles in a day.
Web sites, Obviously here, RnS, Locost, A7 EBay TLPlanet

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble
