1989 Alfa Romeo Sprint 1.7

Still miss my Sprints!

Looks nice @stegcog66, making me jealous now that I don’t have one!

Ok in the spirit of the monumental thread resurrection and my last post being in 2016, here’s the last few pictures I have from 2017.


Made some front coilovers using koni inserts, rally design weld on threads and springs, and cheap e36 adjustable top mounts. Drop was limited by the steering arm and I wasn’t brave enough to cut and weld lower.


Drove it to my wedding (very fast as thought was going to be late!)




New coilover shocks were bottomed out so welded an extra couple inches to the bottom for the inserts to sit into. This was as deep as would allow before hitting the wheel.


This sat it back how I wanted.




Saw another sprint at the services on the way to retro rides gathering 2017. They were going to an Alfa meet. Think was the only other one I saw ‘in the wild’.

And finally October 2017 it was put up for sale and here are some of the ad pics. Yearly welding for mot was taking its toll and with a baby on the way I decided was time to let it go to someone with more enthusiasm and time to look after it.









Much missed (minus the welding) as was such a characterful drive! Would love something similar again!
