Just read this thread start to finish in one go. Amazingly inspiring stuff, don't let anyone ever tell you what you should or shouldn't do to your car. I've been beaten up by a few cars in the past and lost my mojo along the way... Reading this has got me all pumped up, I might even pick up one of my own projects again.
Thank you for sharing this awesome trip of Lowtusness with us.

That's a lot of reading in one go! I'm glad you found it uplifting, it has been hard work and is still throwing up problems and issues all the time, but I continue to work my way through them, this weekend I'll be tackling the reconditioned drive shaft install. The project is ever evolving, and I plan to revise a view things over the winter months, some visual and some technical but all improvements along the way. All the best, Charlie ;-)

Been a while since I've posted, you lot must be getting withdrawal symptoms?! After a couple of weekends installing my new ujs, steering column and making some front end improvements to my air ride, this afternoon a test drive was in order. No noises or clanking or anything adverse to report so it seems like all my latest running issues are solved for now. The steering is a massive improvement to the driving experience, it's tight and precise now and I highly suggest anyone with play in the uj, get them changed, makes a huge difference. This car is really starting to come together now and is as much go as show. Next on my list is repeating the changes I've made to the front air ride to the rear, without going into to much detail, it's a case of making strategic strenthening weak areas of contact where necessary. Here's a photo of it slammed in the garage, the panther panting after a short fast run.

Glad its getting sorted bud, mine is kinda on the back burner for now, all my spare time is with the Scimitar! Its nice to work on a fresh project. If I find any bags that may help us both will let you know as I am looking into bagging the scim but on a budget and the lexus bags are looking too big.

I am looking into bagging the scim but on a budget and the lexus bags are looking too big. I can see you're at full pelt on the scimitar, it's progressing at a good pace, I find if you go too slow on any project you lose faith a lot quicker when things take forever. Take a break from the esprit, you deserve it, you'll get your motivation back after a time out. Regarding bags, I've found the 'universal house air bag 2' for £80 a corner. They're similar to the sport over damper bag but they sit independently of the damper, may be an option? You'd have to build your own mounts though.

Not much to report at the moment just been using the car as and when I can, mostly weekends. Most of the running issues I had are staying at bay for now so all good there. Few photo shoots lined up in the coming weeks for various online/print features. I want to get Ultimate Stance out of the way before I start on my revised rear air bag installation, as soon as the last show this year is out of the way I'll be starting work on that, so I'll be in the garage freezing my balls off over the impending ice age approaching. Here's a random photo from the Retro Cars photo shoot.

For those of you that like a bit of 70s wedge action you simply have to watch this video. It's beyond epic, like watching your grandad and his mates in their prime building a automobile so cool and ahead of its time its unreal. And Jeremy Clarkson's dad at the end is absolutely legendary! Brilliant video and a wink back at the days when magnificent men in their flying machines really knew how to roll.

Love that film. Beats TV any day. There's a very similarly-styled one for the Mk1 Elise development. It's equally fascinating but 2 1/2 hours. In fact I reckon the note-taking passenger in the test car towards the end is the Head-of-Design who appears in the Elise film.
What baffles me though is the filming of the meetings. I know Chapman was no mug at the publicity game, but I can't imagine he was up for re-enacting a previous meeting for the benefit of the camera.

That video was awesome, thanks for posting it. A work mate brought in his Lotus Eclat today, very nice. I did of course park my Scimitar alongside.

What a lovely surprise I had this morning, The Red Panther finally hits the stores with a front cover appearance in RetroCars magazine, and what a brilliant article they have written, it's a good read even if I say so myself. Totally stoked, thanks to kelsey media (Daniel Bevis and Chris Frosin) for showing such a interest in the car and build.

Yeah I was totally amazed to get a front cover a very nice feeing especially as I've got flu but seeing the cover really lifted my spirits. I have to say I'm over the moon with the feature and Daniel did an awesome job of making sense of the scribbles I sent him, he totally nailed it and understood where I was coming from, massive credit to him and Chris for a great job on the photos.
