You could say that me and a mate of mine are quite into our Mk2 Cav's!!
I've currently got three, a mid spec CD hatch, a Mid spec Convertible and a late spec SRi saloon. I've had a few 80's motors over the years and was always more of a Ford guy but the Mk2 Cav drives really nice, is reliable and simple to work on and the owners club is very friendly. Although I prefer the saloon the hatch is probably the more practical, unless of course you manage to unearth an estate!
I'm not sure what else to suggest that hasn't already been mentioned apart from that I recently used my CD (which is by no means a minter)to drive from Plymouth to Birmingham and back and the car was comfy, quiet, went well and also returned pretty good mpg! It also got a lot of looks along the way!
