My dads got a 210, but with the SBC v8 and TH350. He did the disc brake conversion, though not dropped spindles, and got all the parts from Russ at R and R hotrod imports IIRC. Only other thing he did was change the rad, when whoever did the I6 to V8 converion was done they kept the I6 rad, and in hot weather / heavy traffic it just couldn't effectively cool the V8. Must. Resist.

Its a very easy conversion IIRC, change the engine mounts, bolt it in. One thing that gets forgotten though - the shift pattern of the TH box is different to the glide, so you either have to change the indicator decal on the shifter, or remember that R is N, D is R etc etc. The engine swap is a bolt in job, do the swap, keep the I6 and box, then if you / anyone wants to go back to stock in the future you can. It doesn't involve cutting anything around (unless you want to go for a proper mans toy and go big block ) Not that I'm trying to convince you to go for a V8 of course... but.... V8

One of the main reasons we got her as a non runner turned out to be this littl critter Which although perfickly breathethroughable kills the motor practically stone dead if fitted

Cheers Luds Still on't hunt for an original oil bath filter if anyone knows of one, other than that keep using her (No disrespect to the Espace, but she was the net beneficiary here A decent boot plus seating for six in comfort... So in stark contrast with the Ford, which I've yet to drive (but soon!) this old girl demands nothing but regular exercise; we're only too happy to oblige Cheers Matt

Makes me miss my old car even more seeing this. Nice. As for the engine swap it is really really easy, a more modern gearbox would vastly improve drive ability and economy as well. I went from around 12mpg with a small block and a powerglide to over 20 just by going to a th350. Mind you the BBC and 5 speed gave me over 18... I 'think' i still have a set of dropped spindles and disk brake conversion in the shed if it is of interest. P. Of interest?! But of course, please do check / let me know Thanks matt Any sight of the bits please thankyou nicely?

Thanks Guys She's a good mother hen, and no mistake The only (very slight) issue is that the carb (the original Rochester) doesn't do too much in the way of choke, so while she runs brilliantly all day once started it can take a fair bit of cranking to get her awakened from a deep slumber - reluctant to fiddle unnecessarily but figuring that a carb swap might just be on the cards...

I just discovered this thread, what a beauty!! I like the shiny black paint and the toned-down chrome (compared to the Bel Air anyways ). I'm all for keeping the straight-six as well, they don't get much love these engines.
