The 'F' in ERF (lorry makers) stands for Foden, another lorry maker. I believe there was a split in the family and ER went off on his own to form ERF. Foden made steam lorries before belatedly turning to diesels. Eric R Foden wanted to produce the new-fangled diesel lorries but was stopped by his elders. He formed his own firm using his initials, E.R.F. in protest. ERF stands for Edwin Richard Foden not Eric mate |

Sounding the horn whilst a vehicle is stationary is illegal and carries a £30 penalty So any M.O.T. tester should have quite a hefty fine to pay each day?  |

The Reliant Scimitar GTE was the first ever car to have split folding rear seats Think I'd dispute that - the Imp Californian was launched in '67 and has split-fold rear seats.  I raise you the split folding rear seats in my '55 Standard Eight, how else would you get in the 'boot' Folded right up against the fronts  And just look how happy this rear seat passenger is to be surrounded by luggage  |

My dad always told me it was Earnest Robert foden...lying sod Just found this Then in 1898 Edwin Richard Foden influenced future truck design by designing the first steam wagon running |

Allegro's were also more aerodynamic in reverse Many cars create less drag in reverse than forwards; air flowing into and out of the engine bay for cooling creates a huge amount of drag. |

The legend of the "Driver-less Jeep" originated from Merauke in the Dutch New Guinea.
The road to the radar station was so deeply rutted that the grooves acted like streetcar tracks and with the hand throttle set in the Jeep, it could be sent along the road without a driver. The sender would then call ahead to let them know it was coming.

Cosworth yb engine was originally developed to be normally aspirated ,and actually made too much power in its original form so the inlet exhaust ports were closed up slightly to detune it
Was then decided to turbocharge it instead for the development of the 3 door jelly mould cosworth

They are doing it off road though. Ah, yes...but he didn't say on a public highway, did he? It isn't actually illegal either...you can sound it at times of danger due to another vehicle on or near the road. Which is the only time you should sound your horn when moving too. (As a warning). |

in 1954 ford asked triumph for permission to use the thunderbird name triumph said yeah no problemo
years later when triumph came back from the dead ford tried to stop triumph using the name on new generation bike
the first vw beatles built out side of germany were put together in dublin ireland when to avoid
import tax cars were shipped ckd (complete knock down) so whole cars in parts in crates

It is illegal to sound your horn after 11pm and before 7am, it is also illegal to sound your horn on a Sunday, It WAS also Illegal to drive a HGV on a Sunday before they changed the Sunday trading laws, It is still is Illegal to drive a HGV on a Sunday in many countries in the EU, which is why there are so many EU lorries on the road at the weekend over here, they can earn money over here.......
