whats up with the rear wheel? looks ok to me, only if there is a crease in the rim would it be wrecked The rim is the shape of an octagon. Was going to see how straight I could get it by adjusting the spokes but three were rusted fast and wouldn't budge and one sheared off. Would have loved to salvage it but it's just not worth it

I had a Burner Aero, I had no idea what it was until recently. It was all about the Kellogg's spoke reflectors that I should add that I couldn't have on mine as it had 5 spoke yellow mags on. I remember those. Kind of collectible now I think. I also had the same problem as I had mag wheels; remember trying to retro-fit them on by bending the tabs that go around the spokes so they'd reach around the ridge on the mag wheels (think they lasted about half a rotation before falling off!)

if its octagonal the spokes are not tightened properly.
just rebuild the wheel, easy to do and new spokes are dirt cheap, set for £6 inc P+P. would be way cheaper than a new or 2nd hand wheel plus its a good skill to learn

Ok, I know I said that I couldn't afford mags yet, but it was a good deal so I just bit the bullet and went straight down the mag route. Very pleased with how it's looking now; and now it's all put together I can get out on it this weekend! Still needs a lot of tweeking (the brakes don't exactly work) but the sun is shining and I'm heading out!

I'd rather loose by a mile cause I built my own car than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let anyone else write the book.

With the winter nights drawing in I thought I might give the old Budget-Burner a bit of love... What stated as a brake adjustment has turned into a full service... Which in turn has got me contemplating a full resto... But for now I am starting on the 30 years of skank and neglect... Firstly with a bit of bottom bracket cleaning - here's the before and after: and then onto the wobbly pedals:

What became of the Burner? My mk2 Mag Burner is a June 84. Yours being a March 84 must be a really early one I guess.
